For the past couple years I’ve been hard at work fighting it out with FB. I have had a great deal of success with FB and will continue to use it as one of my main traffic sources. But, it can be wildly unpredictable and unstable. Anyone who has used Facebook ads knows that the account bans, bipolar ad reviewers and ever changing platform can be challenging.
In an effort to help stabilize my income, I’ve decided it was time to take another look at mobile. Over the years I’ve dabbled a bit in the mobile market but have never really committed to doing the testing and optimization that is necessary to get a mobile campaign profitable.
So… I decided it would be a good time to start follow along. It’s been a while since my Wild West follow along doing credit reports on PPV (I sold the MacBook but am still enjoying the iPad that I won
). I know that a follow along will keep me focused and motivate me to continue testing and providing updates. I’m hoping to accelerate my progress by getting feedback from some of the others that have more experience in mobile and hopefully provide some good info for others that are looking to start running mobile.
What I’ve done so far…
I installed the STM mobile tracker on one of my servers
I signed up at inCrowd Ads and funded my account
Messaged a few of my AMs about what offers are doing well
Started reading the STM mobile section
I decided to start out with a couple of offers from F5. My real goal here was to just start running some traffic and to get familiar with the inCrowd platform. I also needed to get familiar with mobile tracking and making sure I’m getting all of the parameters that I need like carrier, device, placement, etc.
I first submitted a sweepstakes style offer for South Africa.
Offer: Win an iPhone 5s Payout: $3.60
21 Clicks to the offer 0 conversions
This was the banner that did best:

I wasn’t getting much traffic to this but it looks like most of the ZA inventory on inCrowd is for Android and I was only targeting iOS.
Next up was an Android antivirus offer also for South Africa
Offer: Android AntiVirus Pro Payout: $3.40
123 clicks to the offer 0 conversions
I submitted 4-5 different banners for this offer but only 1 of them was approved.

So, this is where I’m at currently with my journey into mobile marketing. I’ve been really having a tough time picking out which offers and which countries to run. It can be a bit overwhelming when you have the whole world to market to and every vertical available.
Next steps:
Follow up with a couple of my AMs. I still need to hear from a couple but they have been out due to the holiday. Continue testing offers and try to nail down what vertical I want to focus on.
My background is mostly running dating offers. I may try some dating stuff since this is what I’m most experienced with but I’m not sure what inCrowd’s guidelines are on this type of stuff. I think I remember reading that they don’t allow any type of adult content, is that right?
Keep stackin bitches

Hi!
Happy to see you are trying mobile.
So here are the guidelines we use during ad approval. http://help.incrowdads.com/knowledge...val-guidelines
That's right, no adult content.

For the AntiVirus run a landing page... this thread below is GOLD. It's all you need, i recommend focusing on it and testing some ideas around those offers/landing page concepts.

Hey Aaron,
For your win iPad offer I would keep your OS targeting broad. No point in cutting out traffic at the start like that. Let the traffic start flowing in then start cutting the bad shiat!
