Around $1,300 (and then some) - enough? How would you start?

Hey everyone,

luckily I signed up for STM just at the right time. Within a few days I will receive some extra money from my employer which plan to invest into my campaigns. In Germany you get - if you have a nice employer - something we call christmas salary. For me that will be around $1,300 cash available. I wonder if that would be good enough for a first month?

I'm planning on going for a mainstraim dating offer in another European country (and language although I still didn't find out how to research it, see this thread http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...n-POF-spy-tool ) so a few dollars need to be invested in translation.

What do you think. Do you see a chance to break even at the end of the year (in 4 weeks time)? I have read several follow alongs here and it seems like everybody and their mother is doing it just that all these people seem to be so much more knowledgeable.

Looking forward to your responses... and thanks for helping me.

$1300 is a pretty good budget to start with. Start a follow along and start implementing your ideas.

It's important to learn as much as possible, so try to be as transparent with how much you're comfortable sharing.

You need to get the most bang for your buck at $1300, if you try something like adult you will have to spend that a day to get some decent results, you need to focus on higher ROI as you want your spend to last the whole week (Try and get on a network that pays weekly) and earning the most money back.

You ideally want to build up your budget to $5000-10,000 to start handling some more bigger campaigns, or if you get profitable you should get a credit card to keep cashflow moving along, as this is VITAL to keeping the profit turning over as just because you land $100/day doesn't mean its gonna be like that for the next 30 days, you have to make the money while its there on the table

One more tip in addition to the excellent ones you've already received: try to push lower payout campaigns if possible.

With a limited budget like this, you want to get as many conversions as possible to reach statistical significance on your tests: lower payouts mean you need to spend less to do that.

Hey man , that looks like a good start.

With that kind of money I would start with sources like POF, PPV or Mobile ( small self serve platforms ).
You should think of it as a learning experience instead of a "I need to hit a profit". You are investing in your education basically.

POF is good enough to teach you the basics of tracking / writing ads.
Once you see some patterns I would try to scale into other sources.

Also I suggest starting a follow along so we can give you some more specific advice.

What service would you recommend to start with PPV?

Start with smaller payout offers to save your budget. The higher the offer payout the more you'll have to spend to properly test

Start off by testing out emerging markets like MX and CZ. My first big campaign was when I ran adult dating in Czech Republic.. It was like fishing with dynomite.
