Facebook images. Unedited until approved?
Hello,
I've collected a fair amount of images (about 250) for a dating campaign on facebook. Guys would you suggest uploading all the images unedited, then once approved make some changes, so they stand out? Rather than editing all the images then having 1/3 disapproved. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I'm a big fan of editing images, especially for dating ads. I'm actually doing a case study on my blog about the difference editing the images can make. (I'm not trying to plug my blog, by the way. Just saying. ;P) I would be happy to repost the thing in its entirety when its complete if anyone cares to see it here.
In my personal experience, editing images improves CTR when done right. By done right I don't even mean done well. I just mean done in a way that facilitates bringing the eye to the ad. Remember that your competitions ad's are similar to yours, and the whole page blends together - but if you edit your ads in a way that breaks up that monotony or makes them stand out, it's going to draw the eye right to your ad instead of the others.

Couple questions
Ok, if you had say 250 images you would edit them all then submit them to facebook? Even though they may disapprove your image
If so, you use Photoshop? Or
How long do you spend on each image? Approximately
yes, I'd be interested in seeing your case study when completed. Have seen a couple other im do them and editing seems to help.
thanks for your time,
Brian

I have never submitted a new image to facebook without at least cropping it first. I drag and drop images into Photoshop 20-30+ at a time, then crop/resize, edit, and save each one quickly.

Yes, I always resize images. I meant like, adding a border, adjusting the auto levels, sharpness etc.

That's not going to work. If you edit anything on a approved ad, they will review it AGAIN.
so you never edit your ads, always make new ones.
Anyway, what i would do is not edit all those 250 ads. First get them approved, and then you will see which ones do well (CTR-CR), than go to photoshop and make different variation with those well performing ads, and test them out.

Agreed. First off they will re-review when you change something like an image. Anyway, I also tend to follow this approach, submit cropped images, maybe adjust the contrast/levels on some if they seem washed out at all. You can also do things like make eyes bolder, teeth whiter, etc. All things that draw the eyes of the viewer to your ad. When you find an ad that works, if it hasn't been edited, try editing it and submitting that one for a test. I've seen 50% increases in CTR simply by adding a thin red border around the image and doing nothing else.
