Low CTR, when to give up on Angle? Or keep

Hi all,

I'm trying as a first campaign the recommended thread for "Girls into Single dads" to get started in POF. Have over 200k impressions so far, split into 2 groups: 25-29, 30-35

I've uploaded about 3 rounds of images (two headlines per image) and I'm learning from the highest ctr image each time on what works (typically close up, hair color).

However I'm having a really difficult time getting any CTR above 0.05%, much less the 0.1% target. I also tried adding red borders to push up the CTR, but it still stays around 0.05%. I think this may be because my campaign is burned out because I haven't been targeting login counts?

Should I keep uploading ads to try to get a good CTR, add login counts targeting, or change the angle and drop this campaign?

I'd recommend adding a login count target, for starters.

It's unlikely you're burned out, but the login count will boost your CTR, which is good whilst you're learning.

Are you taking all your images from a single source? If so, try varying that, and also try looking for common themes in your images, and changing them. Are your images all the same style? Are the girls roughly the same age? Are they all indoor, outdoor, dark, bright, full-figure, close-up?

Getting CTR up is a bitch at the start - but you'll get there, sooner than you think.

Also - I'd recommend adding a landing page now that you've got the basics down. You might not get into profit yet, but it's good practise.

Finally - launch another campaign! You've got the approach down, now it's time to get the volume in.

Let us know how you get on!

I think I tested too many images that looked similar and didn't get good split that data, I'll start over with more variation of pictures. Also, started adding login count < 100 to all my campaigns! Let's see how it goes.

I've been taking my pictures mostly from pinterest boards. But perhaps from my testing, I should stop using it!

Yep, switch it up and try some different sources!

Although I'm surprised Pinterest images aren't converting better! Heh, that's the power of testing - you never know what will turn out to work best.
