Hey guys,
I'm in a creative zone at the moment. Trying to brainstorm ideas for banners. So I thought I'd get some of you mobile guys involved. One way I thought I could come up with good banners is by understanding features of shitty banners.
So I'm going to run a campaign to find the most horrible performing banner. I'm looking for a banner with the shittiest CTR. (Polarbacon get your gimp or coreldraw program out
)
Can you please help me find the lowest of the low? Create a 320x50 ad and post it in this thread.
The campaign is for a battery saver.
Please submit a banner in this thread.
I will post results in a few days!
Winner gets: Bragging rights for creating the shittiest 320x50 banner ad....plus an easy $100 Paypal.

Rules:
1. The ad has to be relevant in some way.
2. It has to be approved (so can't just be a plain blank ad, swearing, or a pic of a cock)
3. If you use text it has to be in english.
Here's one to start us off:

Incidentally, I have a suspicion that this thread might actually throw up a few banners that work really well!
One of the things that I often do when directing actors for films is to tell them to act a particularly difficult scene "wrong". It's one of the most reliable ways to get a great performance I know.
It works in other fields too: there's a well-known PUA exercise where you set out to get rejected by 20 women a day, for example. Turns out that it's hard to succeed at that - because you tend to end up failing by succeeding, so to speak.
And there's at least one 20+ book novel series which apparently got started when its author was challenged to write the worst novel he possibly could...
Trying to fail, if done right, removes the fear of failure, gets you thinking creatively, and breaks down all your beliefs about what "should work". It's great
.
I'm going to throw one in. This one I created in the mindset of an advertising agency. Slick intensively brainstormed slogan, branding, disclaimer and stock photography.

not sure of the CTR.. lol

That will be unpredictable.
You could slap up a banner of pure virginal white space and it still might pull better than a banner you expected to do well...
I'm looking for lowest CTR possible. I have a feeling virginal white space will get curiosity clicks.
Just for the lols...

I've gotta say... these all look exceptional.
Not sure why you're outing?!

This was for testing a MX campaign, carrier Moviestar.
Very.. very.. lame

^^ Must be english!
lol i forgot that
Sounds fun, here's mine:

Thor to save the day!
I made another one since I was bored, hopefully you guys won't mind.
Could not resist.

Hahaha these are great keep em coming.
Some of these could actually work. Very curious to see the results.
lmao loving these banners
Here's mine..

Haha good thread Mr G!

Haha ok there are some horrible banners in there, I thank you for that. Entries are now closed! Uploading ads now.
Wait here's mine, i was uploading it to imgur

^^ Got you in there.
Ads are uploaded to incrowd and now pending. @andreaincrowd please approve all ads....even the one with the black man, don't be racist. It's for education. Do it for the kids.
Lol, we definitely had the same angle going, I guess geniuses think alike.
hahaha can't wait to see these results! especially caurmens
Gotcha on the approvals.
I saw your Breaking Bad ones and was going to raise you a Downton Abby themed one. But I was too slow.
The vision was this:
A battery dressed in period clothing (possibly with a large hat). Reclines on a day bed and says something to the effect of "Be a dear and find out why I feel so fatigued".
One hell of a thread, cant wait!!
what happened? 3000% roi?
