Testing strategy
Hello,
Just signed with a hope to find my way to some profitable fb camps! I have a lot of questions and I have no idea where to start. I need to find a working strategy for testing & running the camps. For example, I want to promote dating offers by using landers targeting female demographic in 40+ age group. What is your best plan of action to get started?
1. Do you start with External Ads or just create a Fan page and send the test traffic to that page as the cpc is cheaper for the internal pages.
2. How do you find the ad images? Social Ad Ninja? Stock Photos? ...
3. What demo size do you target for the testing phase? If the offer is in NZ, is it OK to to test the ad images in the UK and after you find the winning ad(s), launch the camps with those winners for NZ since the demo size for NZ is very small?
4. How many ads do you test in the same time? Is there any relation between the demo size and the number of the ads you submit in the first run?
5. How many ads do you put inside each camp? What is the best structure to arrange & run the ads within campaigns?
6. for how long should I wait for the ads to get clicks?
7. How many impression is ENOUGH to decide that the ad is not THE ONE?
8. How many clicks is required to decide if the ad is a winner?
9. How to protect myself from burning my budget very sooooon?
10. If the suggested bid is in the range of 0.20-0.40, what is the best bidding practice for the testing phase?
11. After you find some ads with a CTR> 0.10 in min 3K impression, what to do? Pause the ads? Pause the Camp? Let it run & lower the cpc?
More coming next...

Best plan to get started is:
1) Read the what works in 2013 guide first.
2) As you're looking to start with Facebook, browse the whole Facebook forum and take notes. By browse I mean ALL of the forum, not the first page.
3) Understand basics of tracking / how to setup a tracker successfully, and what it actually does.
4) Go through the notes you took from the Facebook sub forum.
5) If you have still questions that remain unanswered, use the search function.
6) If the search function does not give you results and answers, ask in detail in a follow along thread.
Honestly spoken I haven't read all your questions, but up until question 5 alone, 2,3,4 and 5 are 100% answered in Facebook related threads already. In my opinion, this is one of the most helpful forums on here. People who don't need to help out others. But starting with a blueprint request as you did without checking previous forum posts and information spread all around the forum isn't a good way to start.
On a side note, if you're new to AM and kinda short on budget, I'd recommend to start with POF. Easier to deal with, definitely enough volume for beginners, affiliate friendlier platform, no account bans unless you run shady stuff and a rep on here.

1) Read the what works in 2013 guide first.
Thank you for pointing me to that guide. Added to my TODO. BTW, I have read lots of guides such as those written by Finch if you know him.
2) As you're looking to start with Facebook, browse the whole Facebook forum and take notes. By browse I mean ALL of the forum, not the first page.
I am not new to facebook. I have had some camps in the past promoting my own products. But I am new to CPA and dating vertical. Reading through the whole forum?!? I am not sure if it is the time efficient way.
3) Understand basics of tracking / how to setup a tracker successfully, and what it actually does.
I have a very good hand on P202 and I have already set it up on a dedicated server and using it ATM
4) Go through the notes you took from the Facebook sub forum.
I have started to take note.
5) If you have still questions that remain unanswered, use the search function.
I have some camps running and I have gathered some useful data. The reason I posted the questions is to compare other plan with my own strategy.
6) If the search function does not give you results and answers, ask in detail in a follow along thread.
I am on it.

That's why I joined in this forum. To find answer to my questions.

I am not new to IM and AM. I have been doing great with PPC promoting affiliate offers from CJ, SAS to mention a few. I have invested lots of my time & effort & money also into FB and I don't want to switch into another traffic source before mastering it and I am sure that I will.

Again, you will find the answers, but you have to search for them. Browse through the forum, it's not wasting time at all. It's part of your 'education' to run those campaigns.
From a logical point of view, why should other members (especially those non-admins / moderators), paying the same as you, bother with answering questions that have all been answered before many times already? You'll receive a lot of feedback on a follow along thread on all kind of questions, but just putting up a big list of questions right as your first post won't do the job in most cases.
Think of this forum as a networking place with a lot of helpful members much more than a mentor to every question you have.
I've read through all your questions now, and I'd bet at least 6 to 7 are answered in the Facebook sub forum. There's a shitload of information available all in the forum, but nobody is gonna handle it on a golden plate, you just gotta search for it

It looks like it is against STM TOS to post multiple questions in a single post
BTW, I have already started to read through the posts and I appreciate those people who are helpful and put their time & effor tto take care of the other members. This is why we are all here to help and to be helped!

There's a great Facebook thread just over here that I think you'll find very useful: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-Facebook-2013
I'm aware that right now it's quite hard to find answers to these questions because they're hidden throughout the Facebook forum. Whilst they are there - and it's definitely worth reading through a lot of the threads on there - they aren't as organised as they could be for easy access.
I'm intending to compile a guide to basic Facebook campaigns in the near future - as such, it's actually useful to see these questions, because it tells me what people need to know.
So, yourfoothealth, please do feel free to ask these sorts of questions - other members are of course perfectly free not to answer them, but I'll do my best to help out with them.
(And specifically, if the thread above doesn't answer your questions, post the ones you haven't found answers to and I'll do my best to help out.)

Thank you very much for posting that URL. I will get through it to see how it goes along with the questions I have.

Time & money both are golden nuggets in this business. It is really hard to weed through 71 pages of threads just to find the answer for a single question but it is the nature of the forums BTW. I have aremed myself with a cup of coffee and started my journey into spotting hidden gems buried within this shitload of information.

That would be soooo helpful for at least for new comers. helping them find their path and keeping them on the

Thank you very much and I appreciate your kind support and the time and effort you put on helping the other members. I will do the same as soon as I get good into these things.

Thank you again! I will keep posting.

I noticed I might sound a bit harsh / rude in my initial posts, it's not intended. IF you felt offended, sorry about that.
The main idea behind my post is the following: while searching for the answers on your own, you'll find other information you likely would have skipped on as well. By browsing through follow alongs or posts, there are a shitload of informations in little 1-2 sentence posts from others which can help you as well. It's ok to ask questions, but there's no golden rule for the majority of your question. Everybody's style is different, every campaign is different, so is every source and every demo you gonna target on Facebook.
Again I think the best bet is to start a follow along. You'll get a lot of response and feedback based on your progress and a lot of questions answered. More than offending you I wanted to guide you a bit into a more productive way to get those questions answered. So again, if you felt offended, sorry.
Best of success with your FB camps man

@yourfoothealth - No worries!

This is a really good point. There's tons of great info in the Facebook follow-alongs and general posts: I know I've learned a hell of a lot there. Definitely worth doing.

It looks like this is the way I need to go. BTW,
