Adult Dating and List Building (5)

Adult Dating and List Building

Is anyone here building lists while promoting adult dating offers? I was looking at all the leads that I generated over the last few months and it made me think of how big of a list I could be building if I added an email opt-in to my landers.

I was snooping around on my vpn today in different English speaking countries and after looking around at all the big adult sites I couldn't find anyone using a lander with an email opt-in form. So why is no body collecting emails? Everyone always says the money is in the list. Are emails in the adult space not worth the hassle?

For anyone who is collecting email opt-ins, have you found adding an email opt-in form to your lander to reduce ctr or conversion rate? What type of funnel did you use to collect the email? Do you collect emails directly on your lander then link to the offer, or do you have a standard lander then redirect to an opt-in page then link to offer, do you collect with exit-pops? Do you use single opt-in or double opt-in?

I'm interested in building a list and promoting different things in the adult niche via email but I also don't know if I want to go down the rabbit hole of promoting dick pills/supplements and the legality issues involved with all this. How do you not get flagged for spam or insta kicked from your auto-responder when promoting things like this? Do you find your email leads from dating banners to be receptive to PUA or CPS type products?

I guess I'm just looking for some general advice from anyone who has an adult list and is currently successful in monetizing their list while still being complaint and all that. If I do build a list, I don't want to just spam blast it, I want it to be complaint and to be a potentially long lasting asset. Any advice or tips on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

I think the main reason you see no one doing doesn't mean it's smth wrong. It is because 99% of affiliates are lazy.

To make it worth it you need to collect emails ( which will lower your CR ) , find a good email service , come up with good copy etc etc.
Too much hassle for the average affiliate in search of the quick buck.

I am guilty of this , I tried it in my first days of adult , built a list of 100k and never used it ( talk about being lazy ).

Give it a go with a small sample of your traffic and see if you can make it work for you.

When you collected those leads did you make it part of the "verification process" on your lander? Or did you tell them outright that they were signing up to a online dating newsletter or something along those lines? I could see the first lead capture technique being more successful at initially getting the email, but then later on they would be like "wtf is this in my inbox, I didn't sign up to a newsletter" and mark it as spam. Also, in your funnel did you make the email opt-in optional or did they have to fill it out to progress through the lander and get to the offer?

I've thought of this as well, as I've been able to almost break even on a POF autoresponder for older females lol. My only worry would be with finding the right mailing/autoresponder service for such a campaign. I'm not sure how far you can push a PUA list in terms of vulgar copy on something like AWeber.

Once I have a bigger budget, I'll definitely give this a shot again.

I've seen this being used on Social Ad Ninja in at least three countries I've spied with my little eye... 2 dating and 1 other niche.

From my time on Search and Content I know that an opt-in rate on an optimised lander can be 30-35%, which isn't much lower than a high-converting landing page with other qualification processes.

And you now have the added advantage of having an email address.

This isn't terribly better than just prompting the user with an authorisation screen ("allow this app to...") via FB Page Tab (on Facebook for example) so you can then call out their name etc. but rates for accepting this vary between 15% and 35% and copy in the ad is important... so then your LP needs to convert twice as high to get the same ROI.

Being able to call out their name is quite good though.

I'm in the process of implementing this in English-speaking countries because I honestly am too lazy to get various email sequences translated and optimised... so not using for my INTL camps.

On Search this also works very well, and you can use little PHP or JS tricks:

if email name (before the @ symbol) is *.* (so, one dot between 2 strings) and first string is all letters and matches one of (text file containing 10,000 common first names), then call out First Name on page. I have done this and it's fucking bonkers the results you get.

Can also check strpos for all the text file contents (as array) on the START of the email even if there's no dots... and if only ONE result then you can use that name.

"Look, [First Name], I know back there in [geo: city] the ladies are dog-ugly. I've seen 'em."

It doesn't pay to be lazy, and I can see this adding a good bottom line, but many affiliates feel that getting pushed off Auto Responder systems for "report" rate etc. and the time investment is not worth it... especially when the 80/20 rule applies and you haven't exhausted all of the 80% of your platform.

You can associate emails with subids so you know who signed up, which can trigger certain email sequences etc.

Many offers won't accept email traffic but if your wording is right and you're experienced (and not pushing the same TYPE of offer in the space of 6 months e.g. two [non-CPS] dating offers) then you don't have to tell anybody. Works great for CPS and then DOI/SOI, and even better if you have your own product which you can continuously offer at lower prices over time to squeeze every dollar out of people.
