Forum Usage Tip

I've been active in forums for around 15 years now. And 2-3 years ago I found a feature I didn't use for the first 12-13 years.

I know most of you know this. But more for noobs. If you like to monitor the forum on a daily or multi-time a day basis use the "New Posts" link up top.

This allows you to log back in and see what's been updated in all sections. I used to login and go to each section and see what the latests posts were. And granted some sections I don't care about much, but I can add value sometimes by responding and helping someone out.

I never go to sections anymore unless I'm first time in a forum and researching what it's all about.

It's all New Posts + Search.

The Tapatalk phone app has got this down to a fine art. You can view all unread STM posts, as well as post you have participated in.

That's how I've been viewing forums for like 7 years now LOL. Always new posts.

Yep , same way I use too. That + What's New tab that shows all posts in the last 24 hours.

The recent forum software upgrade made this even better: you can now view literally every new post on the forum since you last visited using the "New Posts" feature, even if you last visited more than 24 hours ago.

It'll also show you posts that you haven't read that were made before your last visit, although that can get a bit overwhelming

Damn, I missed this feature lol. Starting right now, I check multi times a day and time wasted searching for posts etc so this should help a lot cheers Smax!
