ISP Targeting???

Hey peeps,

Can someone explain a little more about ISP targeting on TJ? Never really thought that targeting an ISP would have much of an effect on a campaign.

Have never used it, but if you use it, please share your tips and experiences.

Cheers!

That can make a difference when running mobile campaigns.

For example , people that use prepaid phones generally have a lower income so tend to convert less.

By blacklisting those carriers your quality would go up.

This is just an example of how you can look at it. Just be creative

Sure, I do that with mobile campaigns, but I never thought to try it with web campaigns.

If your data tells you not to target specific ISP, than don't do it

Godspeed, do you know where I can pull this data from CPV lab or does TJ provide a token?

You can't , you need to use a tracker that tracks the carrier ( Hint : STM Mobile Tracker )

Ah, bugger. Been setting up all my web campaigns with CPV lab. I have STMs mobile tracker though.

What I really want to know is if anyone's actually seen much difference in ISP performance. I understand why different carriers can affect conversions, but can't quite see how different ISPs can affect conversions that much.

For the web I never tried to optimize by ISP but for mobile it worked pretty well since for mobile ISP = Carrier.

Im using iMobiTrax and as bbrock said, i havent try targeting ISP for web campaigns.
Also, for mobile campaigns, when targeting by ISP you end up paying higher cpm.
So sometimes its better to target all and just redirect leftover traffic to other offer,
something with higher payout like CPS.

I think ISP is pretty much for mobile except for a select few WEB offers that has actual ISP web billing. Which i've only seen in France.
