Heh - I've been considering writing an article or two on emergent technology and how it's going to affect affiliate marketing. There's more exciting new stuff becoming practical now than has been the case for as long as I can remember.
Quantum computing, yes, but also machine learning tools (want a computer that can predict what images will work?), Pixar-level CG on a laptop (why do the girls/guys in your ads actually have to exist)?, mind-reading (seriously)...
I have a friend who has just started a company building nanotechnology robots. It's a pretty amazing time to be alive.
So.. let me get this straight: do those robots build campaigns or rip landers and creatives?
3d printing alone is pretty much going to change everything. Caurmen have you read "Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think". It's a really good book about all the emergent technologies that are around the corner, you would probably enjoy it.

Yeah, 3D printing is already making huge impacts. I did a mini-tech startup last year, and I was amazed at how easy it is to manufacture professional-looking components with low-cost machinery now.

Although, seriously - another couple of guys I know managed to hack a low-cost EEG scanner to do the same kind of brain-scanning that huge marketing firms are starting to do with MRI machines. Now THAT has AM applications...
