Natural drop of CPC price

Greetings,

Question for the FB marketing pro's. How long does it take Facebook's CPCs to drop naturally? If I were lucky enough to get a .1% CTR with an add and it kept at it for a few weeks, what sort of CPC drop pattern would I see? I have tried searching the forums and many stated the CPC would drop naturally - I am wondering how and to what extent?

Thanks in advance!

There's a lot of factors involved. The demographic size, the competition, your budget, your bids, etc. It's hard to say without more stats to look at.

Generally when I'm running FB ads, I like to keep my CTR above a .3%. The CTRs will generally peak within the first day or two of launch before falling as the frequency rises. This can happen quickly or slowly depending on how much of the target audience you're reaching a day. If you've already reached a good majority, you may want to think of trying new creatives after riding out a .1 for a couple of weeks. The CPC that you're paying probably isn't going to drop unless you change up your bids or competition drops out. If you can provide a bit more information, I can delve into this more.

I find when i add my budget or ctr drop naturally, the cpc price will go up.

A quick update from my end: I have basically answered my own question. I left my bids in tact, ie. $1 and they have dropped down to in the $.20's within 2-3 days, which is perfect for my campaign. Now I am working on the best way to scale and will continue to watch if the cpc drops any further.

Also it does seem that the times I did try to lower my bids that those campaigns CTR did suffer.
