- What kind of EPCs do you see? (with each kind of traffic source)
- What is the site?
- What is the commission rate?
Or maybe even better for you is run a campaign yourself, and start a follow along thread, that way affs can help you optimize your campaign with having to pay them nada.

I've had some experience with Paintball online. Its a few years ago but what I can tell you is that its a really small market to recruit affiliates for. You best bet would be to contact forums and communities and offer the forum/website owners something to promote your products. Unless you have exclusive products or exclusive discounts you will have to compete against some of the big stores
Adwords is your best bet to buy traffic BUT the commissions are usually way too low on e-commerce for paid traffic to work as an affiliate.
