Did you check with your bank? I assume you must be paying them with credit card right? This happens sometimes because of facebook trying to charge that amount several times in short span of time, thus triggering banks fraud detection and getting blacklisted for a while.

Their payment processing is glitchy as hell. I would give it another day or so and see if it goes through again.
Did your bank mention if Facebook attempted to charge or did they say nothing hit at all?

richardx where is your CC from ( country, bank ) ? you should make sure with your bank the cc can take a $5k charge and send back an OK ...
also check your zipcode, city, country informations , it won't go through if those are not correct !

Facebook attempted to charge but does not accept my credit cards. but every charge less than $5000 has no problem at all.

So the charges are hitting your card provider, but being denied? I'm still unclear if the charges are reaching your card or not.

I would be willing to bet your bank has a transaction threshold on your card. A lot of banks do this to mitigate risk. Might be worth talking to your account manager and having them double it.

If PayPal tried to pull from your card and it has a transaction threshold, it could explain why this failed also.
