The Adult Banner Magic | My Ramblings
As most of you already know banners can make or create your campaign, so I decided to share a bit of my experience on this field.
People are getting more Internet Savvy everyday, which is a big pain in the ass for all of us.
The times where we could “JUST” have a sexy ass babe on a banner to get clicks & conversions is long gone. Most web users can separate banners from the real deal and know what happens when they click on it.
Especially the dudes that have been browsing the same tube website(s) for a while now.
We can still trick some of them with the fake “you got a message style” banners and all the other good stuff, but I personally am not a big fan of those bounce rates unless your landing page is outstanding and pulls them in anyway.
This is purely written for adult tubes and non-adult traffic sources will obviously work different. If you see a banging* chick on FB people are still going to click it, while on the porn tubes it’s banging* chicks all over the place. It’s the environment that counts in this case, from not so many hot babes to a little banner that they want to see more off.
Basically overall blindness for the same old sh*t.
Before you start throwing your cash around on TJ, Exoclick or the like you can “study” the demographics quit well.
This is how I create banners (Messy session)
There are plenty of angles out there that work already but being the creative one will always be better.
First thing I did was coming up with the ad copy(s) for the banners. What age group do you want to target for adult? While most offers will allow you to run 18+ we all know they will kick you from the offer for that as well.
The perfect age group would be above 30+ to keep that quality up but we don’t want to spoon feed the advertiser either, it has to be a win win for both parties.
So what I recommend is 25+ on your lander but aim for 30+ on your banners.
With millions of impressions on your average tube with all ages we want to get the attention of the older society browsing the porno. I’m sure most of you are already using the MILFs and what not but this is what my experience thought me.
You can find an absolute winning MILF, the milf their milfs but when this milf is placed on a different banner with different ad copy it could become the losing milf real fast.
Don’t get me wrong, the image counts hardcore but without the right ad-copy it’s not going to put you in the profits. A good CTR is sweet but it’s going to be useless if it doesn’t get you conversions, right?
So first things first, how do you appeal to the older dudes instead of the younger crowd?
A good example for that is:
Your wife will never find out! With a milf on the left side to go with the banner.
People that are married & dig the older looking babes are “most of the time” part of the somewhat older age group. This banner has been pushed on every tube site under the sun, and the person that came up with it must have made some good ROI from it.
This is the perfect example for what you need.
BUT, here is what it comes down to… and I have seen people do it wrong al the time. While this angle is perfect you have to understand that 90% of the people on the tubes have seen the banners and LPs and offers from everyone on this forum before.
A big portion of those guys has probably signed up or has at least some experience with these “adult dating offers”.
They also know your banner is a banner and probably know what the results will be after they click it.
You need to SELL what you have to offer.
There are many ways to do this but I always like the “Here is why we are” different type ad-copies. Your competition has probably annoyed millions of daily tube visitors with their obnoxious get laid tonight type banners.
You can use this to your advantage and trigger what made the visitor disbelief 99% of the banners out there right now.
Some simple examples that has been used for a while now are:
The brainy part behind this is quit simple; your “offer” does not have all the bullshit the others have.
One of the only reasons this small line works is because the visitor has experienced the bullshit from other offers at least once.
Another example that uses the competition is the line:
No Creditcard required (I don’t recommend it for quality)
While most people think this line is used to indicate that the website is free and it does but the actual REASON this works is because your visitor probably had to use his credit card for the other offer he signed up for.
When you put all of this together you get yourself a very neat little banner.

And as selling point you are using:
No Bullshit & No Creditcard required (Indicating that it’s different from what they have already seen).
This concept still works and you will still see it running today. Your headline is a creative way to make people interested and target the older and you are selling it as something different.
In my experience, the more you sell on your banner the better your conversions will be if you are working with a basic landing page (rules etc.). Most landing pages won’t take your angle to the next level and I personally always design/create a landing page that is general and flows with most banners I create.
I never use banners with little selling points. I never just let the MILF do the talking because in my experience it has never worked out well.
You have 300/250 pixels of space to sell the SH*T out of what you have to offer, USE IT.
Let’s just faces the fact that people on adult tubes are 90% of the time not first time users. Take POF as example, bidding on 50- login users the conversion rates will be much better than the 200 users.
If you have eaten at let’s say “James kitchen” the restaurant in your neighborhood before and the food was horrible, there is a small chance you will ever go back there. You might walk in once more because you are desperate but never again after that.
What WOULD make you eat there again?
Find the answer to that question and you can kill it. A complete make over and a new name would probably get you to eat there again, keep that in mind.
Another great ad copy example is the line:
This is NOT a DATING site.
Again, you are claiming to be different from the nonsense they have already seen before.
I can personally tell you that it works.
With all this rambling above I am trying to say one thing… Treat your ad copy on your banner the same as you would with images.
Now to move on to images, let me share a bit of my way of doing that as well.
I always split them up in several categories.
Unreachable
Using gorgeous babes on your banners or landing pages might get you a high CTR but these male users have lived long enough to know these babes are unreachable for them.
They WANT to but deep down insight they know it all sounds to good to be true with images like that.
You will most likely end up with some arrogant 18 year olds that think they have a chance and that’s not what you want.
Fuckable & Believable.
These are the type of babes I always go for. You are working with a broad age group and the babe you are using has to be fuckable and believable at the same time for most ages.
A great example for this is the picture below.
This nice little lady would be considered a 6 or even 5 in modern day society but she is fuckable and believable for just about everyone.
Older man would be more than happy to get in contact with her and the 25/30 year olds would be as well on their average day depending on the person of course.
Plain out nasty!
I often add these in just to see if they work. I am a young dude and some images just look plain out nasty to me but might be the icing of the cake for others, especially older guys.
It’s a hit and miss but when you HIT you can see some amazing results from these monsters.
Think, hairy 50+ females spreading their legs etc etc.
Classy & Sexy
This has to be a combination of fuckable & believable but if you can find a lady that is classy, fuckable & believable you got yourself a winner.
This has always be the perfect combination for me. Think about nicely done hair, not too naked but more sexy and older.
While this doesn’t come to mind when you study the world of porn tubes, there are a ton of guys on there that are just plain out lonely. At the same time these guys don’t want a lady that spreads her legs for everything she sees but they would love to actually get a partner that is classy but still into the same crazy porn they are into.
It really helps building a more respectable angle for your banners and landing pages, which will result in a good ROI.

Taking a step back and thinking of why something works and how can you build on it will set you apart from competition.
Everyone starting out in adult , try coming up with your banners following the advice on this thread, you won't regret it!

Nice post dude, especially the points about 'unreachable' girls.
Believable mediocrity is a million times better than unattainable hotness. I think suggestive pics tend to do better than outright pornography, too...
That said, I don't agree with working the 'No Credit Card Needed' line in to ads. Likely to harm quality imo

On that subject;
Every affiliate should always keep the advertiser in mind with their campaigns, throwing money at data you can't use isn't going to profit any parties involved. I always try to alert affiliates if the advertiser loves to optimize you off with little leads, it requires a slightly different approach to keep on such as the use of subIDs and a little less testing with lower quality traffic sources.

Awesome post. Fuckable & Beleiveable is spot on and is something i never saw 6 years ago in dating ads. 80% of the AdultFriendFinder chicks were those extremely hot girl next door types which seems too good to be true. Once the combo of amateur images came in/good offers on affiliate networks, that's when things blew up with all the adult offers.

Could apply to so many industries out there and definitely not just adult. Gave me some things to think about in an industry I'm operating in where my audience has heard and seen it all before.

Milfs/average looking girls who at least look 27+ are definitely where its at. They convert far better than the young girls, my guess is because the younger audience is less gullible/more internet savvy and much less likely to click on banner ads and join adult dating sites. It's ok because these younger guys don't tend to have credit cards or disposable income anyways and are usually lower quality leads.
Just to add to this, you can really high CTR's using gif clips in your banners. This high CTR will give your ads a advantage if your on a cpc platform that rates your ads by CTR and will shoot your ad to the front of the rotation giving you fresher eyeballs. But these gifs can also be click bait and burn a lot of money fast so you have to find a winning combination. On the other hand I found the best combination between CTR and conversion rate are the Gifs that rotate images of different women. They will have less CTR than porn clip gifs but they also convert far more consistently.
