Getting Started On POF

Hey Everyone,

Been reading through all the guides on POF. I will be speaking with the affiliate manager at F5 on Monday. Hopefully will be approved and ready to get started after that.

Is it worth it for a beginner to use POF Pro? Does POF Pro have built in tracking or would I still need something like Prosper202 installed in my hosting account?

Is it better to direct link to the offer or use a landing page in the beginning? I know this was covered in the getting started guide. Just want more opinions on this.

Most of my questions will be programming and tech related since that is my weak point, at least for the time being.

I appreciate any feedback. More questions will follow as I think of more.

Hello and welcome!

I'd strongly recommend using POFpro. It makes a lot of the initial setup for campaigns easier, as well as cutting down on management hassles no end. Tom's POF Mastery Guide is good too.

POFpro has built-in tracking, and it's good.

If you want an alternate opinion on whether to start out running a lander, redrummr wrote a very interesting one here: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...l=1#post120449 . In general, you certainly won't do yourself much harm running landers from the start.

Thank you, caurmen.

Just to clarify, if I use POFpro, I do not need to utilize Prosper202 for tracking POF campaigns?

I'm assuming if I start with landing pages, I need to purchase a domain name for it? If so, any guidelines on proper domain selection?

Good start

POFpro will handle your tracking needs for POF. No need for Prosper.

I'm actually not too far ahead of you in my journey. As far as domains go use a generic domain name so you can run multiple landers off the domain. So for dating you could use .amazingdatingoffers.info ect. No need for .com extensions at this point, save your cash for testing. So head over to namecheap and get those landers up man.

Thank you, rougejack.

Good tip on the domain extensions. Since the goal is to move the lead to the offer as quick as possible, having a memorable domain name isn't a necessity.

I was going to ask pretty much that same question. Thanks for doing it for me, paulside1.

Because I'm going to start out on POF, I'll use POFPro for tracking. When it comes time for me to get into PPV or FB traffic, I'll likely install CPV Lab to track those campaigns.
