I'm completely mindblown at this. Basically I ported my ads from 310x110 to IABs on plenty of fish. Angle is the same, copy is the same, using same lander, everything. Normally this lander will get a 50-60% CTR.
Anyway I've got approx 50 clicks on the new IAB ads and ONE clickthrough. This makes absolutely no sense. I assumed it was something wrong in the code - but I've tested everything and it works fine. I created a spy account with a VPN, clicked on my own ad, clicked through on the LP and no problems. Everything was tracked. Page is loading at 700ms according to Pingdom and is receiving clickthroughs at 50-60% CTR with other ad sizes / campaigns.
Anyone have any ideas? I can't imagine this is just variance - it's just too much of a drop-off.
50 clicks -> one clickthrough is definitely within the bounds of variance. It's at the extreme end, but if you've checked everything you can see and it all works, then chances are you're just having a very wierd variance spike of the kind that drives poker players to drink
Give it another 100 clicks and see where you are.
Yeah I think you're right... it's on an upswing. I played poker for a living for 2.5 years and that confused me enough to send in a support ticket to POFPro asking what was going on haha
Whats your browser targeting set at? tablets and mobiles get awesome CTRs but there landing CTR are terrible, I'm assuming a lot of it is due to mis clicks.
