Hey STMer's
I'll get straight to it. I've been running the offer for about 3 days already and
seeing some good potential but traffic is lacking.
Offer: Game offer for the UK - $7.33 payout for a 2 click conversion subscription
Networks: Inmobi, Tapit, Jumptap and now MMedia
Both text and banner ads, the text ad is profitable by 15%.
Very tight targeting (1 OS and 2 carriers)
Here are the stats for the last 3 days:
Spent: $48
Revenue: $44
Profit: -$4
The campaign is being direct linked with a current CPC of .10 avg on the ad networks.
The problem right now is I don't get much traffic, and it seems relatively
expensive.
Any suggestions?
Let me know if you need some more details (without outting the camp).
Cheers,
GettinPie
Campaign 2:
South Africa
Ad network: Admoda
Offer: $1.4 or $2.03 subscription dating offer
Last 3 days traffic:
Spent: $3.5
Revenue: $7.63
Profit: 4.13
Avg CPC: .0159
Direct Linked
So... This looks like it could do extremely well. The problem
now is the traffic, extremely limited.
This campaign is running with both Text and Banner, going way above
the suggested and "Avg bids" suggested by Admoda, the targeting also
shows over 3million ads served PER DAY in the campaign planner.
I'm going to look at scaling this to other ad networks.
Cheers
Good start - looking forward to future updates.
Thanks bro
Day 4:
Game offer (UK):
Clicks: 230
Spent: $32.50
Revenue: $14.68
Profit -$17.82
So... not so good, set it up on a new network and am
getting more traffic, just paying for it more :| at least
I'm getting data and seeing which specific models and carriers
are performing the best but need much more data
Dating offer (ZA)
Clicks: 166
Spent: $14.94
Revenue: $0
Profit -$14.94
I expanded this to another network and the CPC is wayyy higher
so I just did a mini test and it doesn't seem to be backing out, I'll
do some optimizing and see how I can improve this.
*
On another note I've set up some PPCall offers on a few ad networks
and google. So far only 1 campaign got approved on TapIt with
137 clicks
cost: $16.44
but no clicks are showing up in the PPCall tracking so I've paused the
campaign and am seeing what the issue is.
Cheers
Game offer looks pretty good to start! -50% ROI before much optimisation is a good sign, now you've just got to figure out what to weed out to make it convert better.

Day 5 Update:
Game offer (UK):
Clicks: 234
Cost: $23.40
Revenue: $0
Profit: -$23.40
The original traffic source just simply dropped in traffic for no apparent
reason. No bids were changed but it dropped from $21 spend yesterday
to $2 spent today.
The other network doesn't seem to be backing out and the 3rd network
is not sending any traffic ($.29 spent).
Further optimizing and tweaking required.
Dating (ZA)
Clicks: 100
Cost: $0.47
Revenue: $5.46
O.K. So, turns out I'm getting around 700,000 - 1 million impressions a day.
The problem is the CTR of the ad (which I stupidly didn't check) was horrible
so I just wasn't getting clicks.
I've set up a few more ads and am seeing how they can improve the CTR. So
far I've got 4 conversions in the last 1 hour. It looks like it's working for now, I'll set up
A LOT more ads tomorrow and continue on upping the CTR (previous CTR was .00734 and .00065)

Regarding the PPCalls campaigns I've set up: No results so far, my bids on google are too low
so I'm looking to expand using Google Display and using some Ad Networks for the PPCall
offers.
Cheers
Keep testint thats -50% ROI campaigns. The secrets of mobile are:
1st - Optimization
2nd - Optimization
3rd - Optimization
O.K. So the last few days were a total shit storm. WOOOO.
Anyways, The UK offer is currently paused due to the advertiser
needing to do some maintenance and should be back up in a few days.
In the meantime I had spent about $50 before I was notified of the pausing,
I thought something was up....
ZA offer:
Spent: $2.12
Revenue: $3.4
Profit: $1.28
ROI: 60.3%
The ONLY profitable campaign. The only lacking factor is traffic, after
trying 15+ new text "banners" traffic has not increased.
Since then I've launched a few campaigns...
I also forgot to mention I had a mobile Adult offer in the U.S.going for the last week or so
that goes as follows:
1 Traffic source:
Total data over 7 days:
Payout: $2.5 DOI
Spent: $151
Revenue: $75
Profit: -$76
ROI: -50.3%
What I've noticed is if it would have been a SOI for $2.5 or more with the same
conversion rate (0.63% YES, under 1%) I would have made $315, so I'm going
to look for a viable mobile optimized Adult offer SOI.
This offer was direct with advertiser so I could see the "single opt in" and "double
opt in" results.
Stupidly I decided to launch another campaign in India and it goes as follows:
Payout: $.13
Spent: $15
Revenue: $.52
Profit: -$14.48
ROI: -96.5%
Payday Loan PPCall - US - Display
Payout: 6.40
Spent: $50.05
Revenue: $0
Profit: -$50
ROI: -100%
AND another.... Pay Per call for Self Storage on Google:
Payout: $8.50
Spent: $81.94
Clicks: 20
Revenue: $34
Profit: -$47.94
ROI: -58.4%
Andddd.... another (surprised)?
Home Security PPCall - US - Google
Payout: $52.50
Spent: $35.06
Clicks: 78
Revenue: -$35.06
ROI: -100%
This one shows promise due to the volume, but strangely not
a single click was recorded as a call. I double checked and it IS showing
on mobile only. This is WEIRD. I need to check that out.
O.K. One last campaign, promise:
Auto Insurance PPcall - US - Google
Payout: $9.35 - $12.50
Spent: $28.28
Clicks: 39
Revenue: $0
Profit: -$28.28
ROI: -100%
So. This one didn't show clicks as calls either. WHAT IS UP GOOGLE?
It looks like they have potential... if they would actually be CALLS.
O.K. So... I need to back up. A lot. And focus on 2-3 campaigns at most.
And the biggest problem I faced with the ZA offer is traffic.
Therefore I'm going to focus on countries with volume and match it
up with an offer.
I've decided to pause all campaigns and am going to go with these:
UK offer (once back up)
Adult Mobile offer (after finding SOI offer)
A new campaign in Malaysia/Thailand
UK traffic is pretty average priced.
I'd test a landing page or 2 immediately. Depending on the offer it could 3x your conversion rate. That will make the biggest different. Next is getting a more clickable banner.
An easy answer for a higher CTR is a Facebook related banner, which will work well if your offer is a generic one around dating, sweeps, ringtones etc..
Thanks for the advice stackman.
The offer is still down but I'm testing an LP on a diff offer that's also converting at -50%...
details coming later.
The problem is I need to get creatives and LP's reviewed before being able to run them and
the AM has been at a conference for the last few days :/
Definitely setting up a lander for the UK offer for when it comes back up.
I've been using http://unbounce.com for landers, is that a good idea? or
do you guys have any other suggestions?
Cheers
I am not sure if using unbounce is a good idea since it uses JS to do the A/B split testing and slow everything down.
Maybe it's better if you just split traffic 50-50 between the original page and the tested one.
Also , are you tracking publisher ids on the networks you are running?
Many times there is only 1-2 bad sources pulling down all the profit.
Hey BBrock,
Hmm OK. I'll definitely split test.
I was running the offer on inmobi (asked about pub id tracking, apparently not possible)...
I've moved it to Mmedia and was running it there before the offer was paused and I am tracking
pub ids. Just didn't get enough data
Thanks for the tips
Edit: I'm using Mobit from Matomy for tracking purposes (tracks devices, manufacturers, carriers, etc).
Cheers
