yragcom1's 30 DayChallenge To Master PPV...And Banking, Too!

Dang it, why can't I get this PPV crap?

I have both a LI account and a MT account just sitting around. Never made a dime with PPV.

Well, that's going to change... THIS month.

Day 1- 9/15/13

This is my STM PPV 30 Day Challenge. ’ll try to keep it short and sweet for clinical purposes.

I decided to go with a PPV campaign because I already had the needed tools in place from previous efforts that did not pan out. I have:

After reading the STM 2011 Guide, today I built a total of 8 landing pages today to run 4 test offers on. I used 90-Second Website Builder, as I find it a easier tool to use than Muse, Dreamweaver or BlueGriffon.

I built 2 styles on each of the 4 offers: 1 image based, primarily taking a snapshot with Snagit, and modifying the image with Photoshop into a lander. The other LP was html-based, and contained no more than 1-2 graphics for the sake of speed.

The offers are zip submit types, as laid out in the guide with CTRs at 2-4%. Bounty ranges from $.80 to $1.40.

To get out 8 landers and set up 4 campaigns is a major milestone for me. Took about 6 hours on and off Sunday. Most of the time was spent getting my head around CPVLab and LeadImpact's interfaces. I’m sure I’ll get faster with it over time.

OBSERVATION: Lead Impact is a trip with their pricing structure. The views in the financial silo, where I have a credit card type offer is running me .035 a view. Damn, that’s ridiculous. Lowest I got was .015 a view on another offer.

I believe I have everything set up as per the guide. I’m looking some offers on PeerFly to set up tomorrow.

Day 1 is over. We’ll see how things shake out on Tuesday when the first campaigns go live.

Feel free to ask questions, comment on drop some knowledge. I’m learning here, too.

See You Tomorrow,

YRAGCOM1

Good luck!

Keep in mind that $0.035/view is $35 CPM and running a $1.40 offer on that is going to be very difficult to make profitable.

Breaking even will require ~17.5% CTRs and 15% Conversion Rates!

Day 2: 9-16-13

Today I built out three more campaigns and put them in the Lead Impact pipeline.

Email submits/Zips. All had a $1.40 bounty. Two landers on each, 15-20 URLs/ keywords per the 2011 guidelines.

The building out took about 4 hours total today. I’m getting faster as I get the hang of dealing with Lead Impact / CPVLab.

Tomorrow, the first campaigns go live. We’ll see what happens.

See You Tomorrow,

Day 3: 9-17-13

First campaigns went live today. This is what they call "learning to walk". I was decimated.

500 some impression, 3 clicks, no leads.

About $15 spent.

As I learn more about PPV, it seems that there is a balance between engagement and fast copy. I was trying to lean more toward people who are quick to leave more than read. Probably my error.

LESSON: Always start your campaign when you are AWAKE. Mine started at midnight, and most of the $5 spent on each of my three starters happened at 2-6 am. Doh.

I see that my engagement rate wasn't too bad, if that's to be taken into consideration. It's just that nobody clicked.

My landers probably need more work. I tried to with a quick and simple approach. I had the old-school flashing CONGRATULATIONS blinking at the top. Swing and a miss.

Went with two landers, one Photoshop based, the other, HTML based. I don't have the data to make a determination on which did better, but it appears that the Photoshops did better for me.

Having seen this first try, I have learned some things. I need to pause my other 3 campaigns, and work more on landers that are more engaging. So back to the drawing board on these.

I'll probably won't be back in the game for a few days while I bang out some more appealing landers. Til then, your input is alwys welcome, STM fam.

See You In 2-3 Days,

yragcom1
