TrafficJunky Questions

Still new to TrafficJunky, but I like the traffic source so far I'm just looking for a better understanding on some things

1. When setting up a campaign, what is Auto Optimization and should it be used?

2. If my niche is asian women since I have an offer related to finding an asian woman shouldn't it be helpful to target the "Asian" channel? I tried this yesterday and I got $3 worth of traffic the whole day .. what do I do in a situation like this?

3. When bidding, on TrafficJunky, is there any strategy to dropping the CPC?

4. If Ad CTR is factored into where I'm ranked in the list of bids, should I duplicate my campaign after I have tested and found which ads are converting best or does it not matter?

1. I haven't really played around with this.

2. Using any kind of keyword/channel targeting will massively decrease your volume. Let's say you're targeting Asian girls on the general TJ demographic. You only need a CTR of 0.5% to match the typical ad performance. What are the chances that 1 in every 200 users is going to like the idea of an Asian girl? Pretty high, I'd say.

You might as well just go for the main demographic. You may find that your CTR outperforms a plain banner simply because it beats the blindness and offers something different.

3. You're bidding CPM so the best strategy is... upload better banners! You might want to experiment with your frequency capping and dayparting, too.

4. I avoid duplicating in the same placement as I often end up cannibalising my own profits. That goes for bidding on both Video A and Video B, too. If you're going to blast all placements on a page, you better have enough angles and variations to keep each of them sweet.

It can be done.

One chat lander, one rules lander, one niche angle and etc...

Duplication will massively increase the time you spend keeping your campaigns fresh, which is a pain in the arse on TJ at the very best of times.

Auto-optimization gives preference to ads that convert best which means that you’re always running your campaign at its maximum conversion potential. It increases the rotation of your best ads based on the action you chose. Here’s a link to the help doc for the auto optimization feature: https://www.trafficjunky.net/front/auto_optimization

We recommend you place the invocation code on the sign-up or sale confirmation page.

Using both keyword targets and channel targets will help you reach your target audience better. You need to do some bid testing to see how much the targeted traffic costs. You might need to raise your bid to get the kind of volume you’re looking for.

Test rigorously! Conduct A/B testing of one element at a time, such as image or layout, is critical in getting good optimization data. However, don’t only look at CTR when testing, but the whole funnel (clicks, free joins , sales, revenue).
Turning on Auto-Optimization and placing your invocation code on the confirmation page for the sign-up helps drop CPA as well.

CTR isn’t a factor in your bid ranking. Your bid, budget, and targets are the main factors.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
