I was reading in the STM 2011 guide about setting up a PPV campaign, which I'm close to starting. I had a question about finding keywords to add to the campaign. According to the guide, you should keywords that are A. phrase match, and B. have over 30K searches in the Google Adwords Tool.
My question is this: How do you determine this criteria now, due to the changes in the Google Adwords Tool? Can you still get this info out of Keyword Planner?
I'm not sure anyone's 100% certain that this point: the changes are too new.
Although I'd certainly be interested to hear if people have ideas on this.
The one suggestion I'd have would be to supplement your keywords with ideas from Google Suggest scrapers like Ubersuggest. Doesn't give you keyword volume, though.
You can still get phrase level keyword information in the Google Keyword Planner tool.
1. Select Google Keyword Planner
2. Choose "Enter or upload keywords to see how they perform"
3. Then you can enter your keyword list with quotes around each keyword and click "Get estimates"
4. You only care about impressions, so just set your bid to the high side.
5. Segment by keyword and you'll see impressions for each keyword. You can even change your match type by selecting the "Edit match types" dropdown.
