Hi everybody,
A couple of days ago I set up some new campaigns, but the images didn't perform - so I re-created the same campaign to test a couple of new images.. USING the exact same settings!
#1: My first campaign had a demo of 200.000 people approximately..
#2: An exact clone of the first campaign has a demo of 132.000 people approximately..
What's the difference? Campaign #2 will only be showed on the RIGHT side column on Desktop computers... But I didn't choose this option. Facebook automatically did that!
The first, original campaign doesn't have this setting and that's probably why the reach is much much higher!!
How can I get rid of the "showed only on the RIGHT side column on Desktop computers" option?
Yes, I have the exact same problem. WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE AUTISTIC ASSHOLES DOING?
Just started 3 campaigns with identical settings. Is one doesn't have the "showed only on the right side on desktop computers" and has an audience of 260,000.
The 2nd one *does* have the "showed only on the right side on desktop computers" and has an audience of 136,000.
The 3rd one also has the "showed only on the right side on desktop computers" and has an audience of 220,000.
I spent 5 hours of research, number crunching and strategizing based on accurate audience figures, now that's all out the window. Naturally, when you have a ceo who doesn't want to fucking take a shower before billion-dollar investor meetings, the company doesn't give a shit about it stakeholders. I don't care if I make a million dollars off these punks, I will cheer when they die.
It's all estimates, remember. Personally, I haven't encountered the "right side" thing. Probably a pilot test... Who knows, performance could be better?
Estimated audience changing is like suggested bid range changing... does it really matter? No. Who sees your ad is going to be the same regardless of the estimate provided your targeting hasn't changed. Worry more about campaign performance than nebulous numbers Facebook poops out. Same with the whole right side thing - come on, if you were running marketplace ads then they were ALL right-hand side desktop feed ads in the first place. Know your traffic source.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter. It won't affect your campaign. Just guesstimate it's a mix of the 2 estimates you're seeing and go make you're campaign profitable.
Traffic sources can't be perfect :P
