30 DaysChallenge : Facebook + Dating (again ) . Goals : $100/day

Hiya,

My name is Rudy, im pretty new here and just started learn internet marketing . Glad found STM .

Intermezzo
My background is game developer . Games portfolio has been play more than 250million and have serving more than 1billion ads impression . This year we have release two mobile games and doing pretty good revenue.
One month ago im started to learn CPA.

Short story , i have approved and join Peerfly , Maxbounty and F5 .

Day1
I have choose an offer from MB and F5 , both has the same offer but different payout and different requirement and offer lander . Offer vertical is dating.
I use LP methods and use FB ads as traffic sources .

Campaign 1 - using 5 image ads - MaxBounty
Campaign 2 - using 5 image ads - F5

Below is the targeting . Seems the audience is low .

ps. now , i just wait fb to approve the ads. My last try is waiting about 2 days , is it take that long ? POF seems have faster approval . But ive once promote my game fanpage and it takes only 2 hours to getting approved. Maybe because my ads is targetting Denmark and my country based is Indonesia.

update : Campaign1 is approved . Campaign 2 only 1 images approved , the other 4 is still in review

Weird things happens.
15mnts after getting approved . Campaign 1 have dissaproved . the image is not vulgar . Lets wait for other ads.

"Your ad wasn't approved because its text violates Facebook's policies on ads for dating services or websites"

the text is
Meet singles tonight at the First Date. We give you 100% guarantee meeting. Signup for FREE! ----> english version ( i have translate it into Danish ) .

any insight ?

Did you select a relationship status? FB requires that you select single and/or not specified for dating ads (except in France).

It could also be the "100% guarantee" or "FREE".

Sometimes it can be hard to tell why FB doesn't like an ad.

I have check all status. Or should i target single only, married only.
Btw f5 campaign is approved and already running , its very weird because its same with the other campaign whic getting disapproved.

Wanna ask , in not too many audience , how can we scale the campaign ? Add more age range?

Facebook requires that you target "Single" or "Not Specified" only for dating ads. If you've targeted "Married", that'll be why you're being disapproved.

Status so far

Hi Rudy,

Facebook can be a little strange in how they allocate impressions to ads. I tend to break individual ads out into separate ad groups so that they get more exposure.

Hope this helps.

You could also try pausing the ads that have received some impressions so that FB is forced to give your other ads more exposure, at least whilst in testing phase.

Hmm , ill try pause the most impression then .
So instead creating 5 images ads ( similar ads ) under one campaign , its best to make 5 campaign with only one image ads ?

09-13-2013 12:31 PM #11 caurmen (Administrator)

You can do that, yes. It works, but it's quite high-management to keep up.

Don't just create one ad per campaign if you're testing one ad per campaign - instead, create 4 copies of the same ad in each campaign. Polarbacon demonstrated a while ago that this is a good way to smooth out wierdness with Facebook's ad serving algorithm.

So, if you have 5 images you want to test, you'd create 5 campaigns. In the first campaign, you'd create 4 identical ads with the first image. In the second campaign, you'd create 4 identical ads with the second image. And so on.

This is the most robust way to test on FB, but it is quite a lot of work!

Identical ads is have same image but different adbody and ads tittle? Btw thanks for such insight.

For bidding, usually best to bid highest on cpc or cpm or click optimized auto?

I'd go for CPC myself - the general opinion is that it's the safest / least crazy option on Facebook right now.

Day4 ( this is total spent so far )

Spent $19
Revenue : $0
LP CTR : 20%

to do : i will try to create other campaign , and try to find the best ad images for two offers . I will use 3 images for each Offers . And i will split each images for one campaigns. So i will run 6 campaigns .

What i learn so far , i dont give any research for choose ad images , i just use images i see its "safe" at ads img shared on the STM .

Lets see result tomorrow .

Still waiting new campaign getting approved. Wanna ask something, why clicks at fb different with clicks report at ads networks? I.e at fb report i get 10clicks while on f5 it reports 5clicks

Day5

Campaign 1A

Campaign 1B

Campaign 2A

Result

Spend
Campaign 1 : $24
Campaign 2 : $6

Revenue
Campaign 1 : $25
Campaign 2 : $0

Things learn
------------------
Picking some good ad img is very important . And the most impression is the middle bid price
i.e suggested bids max is $0.19 .
Campaign 1A i bid $0.3
Campaign 1B i bid $0.23
Campaign 1C i bid $0.19

Campaign 1B will get more impression than 1A and 1C
and so campaign 2 , the mid price will get more than the highest bids .

THings to do
- Campaign 1A , i will pause the 1A-3 , so let the other two run and get impression
- Campaign 1C , i will raise the bid so i can know how it performs
- Campaign 2A will pause that offer and let 2B run and raise bid on 2C
- tweak LP a bit
- Add three more images for campaign 1 to find more CTR
- Add three more images for campaign 2 ( this will be final to test if the offer will run good on me )

Still have some question if any one could get some insight .
I put the same format LP for campaign 1 and 2 , but seems campaign 2 is get less converting , but im not sure .
Clicks to offer page - campaign 1 is 46 ( +-35% )
while campaign 2 has only 4
so LP CTR on campaign 2 is very low ( <20% )
What should i do ?

Also it seems conversion leads couldnt store into prosper202 , so when someone join , couldnt record the leads convert . Only able to store clicks to LP and clicks out to offer page .
Any one can help ? i use maxbounty .

Don't worry about your LP CTRs yet - you don't have enough clicks for them to be statistically significant. You'll see the CTRs change wildly in the early stages - that's normal.
