Resources for learning Search Traffic?

So taking some Advice,

As a new Affiliate Marketer completely brand new, I'm choosing Adwords as my traffic source. I just don't see how putting my energy into the POF platform is very wise as it's scalability is limited.

I have interest in Toolbar Affiliate offers - any and all resources, tips and content are greatly appreciated.

POF may not have the scale of Adwords, but it is much more affiliate friendly. Most people on this forum have probably had their Adwords account (or 10 of them) banned over the years.

I wouldn't pick Adwords if you're new to AM... PoF doesn't have the same scale sure, but why compare things to one of the largest traffic sources on the planet...

Lots of people are making steady $xxx-$x,xxx daily on PoF so if scaling to $500/day is too low for you as a newbie then you have the wrong mindset. No one broke into AM by saying "I need to be able to bank $xx,xxx daily on this platform or it's not worth my time".

Adwords isn't like it used to be. They're strict now and if you just happen to be promoting something on their blacklist, they'll throw the banhammer down.

Bing Ads isn't as bad. Although, quality scores will affect how much traffic you get.

If you're new to the game, POF is a very forgiving platform to learn the ropes while getting your feet wet.

If you want to learn PPC, there is no shortage of material available online.

1. Step One: Learn the Fundamentals on PPC. I would suggest that at the very least you pass the Google and Bing certification exams. This will ensure that you know all the fundamentals of PPC so that you don't make any foolish and costly mistakes.

2. Step Two: Learn How to Optimise Landing Pages. I would then suggest you master landing page optimisation. This is just as important as PPC fundamentals if you are thinking of running offers on Google.

3. Step Three: Find the Right Niche to Start Out. Finally, I would suggest that you pick your first niche very carefully. PPC advertising is as brutal as it gets in terms of competition, so you probably want to stay away from most of the popular categories when you are just getting started.

Adwords is the best traffic source BY FAR, but unfortunately the time has come where you really need to produce your own product. Adwords (and Facebook) are just too good of traffic sources to be messing around with lame affiliate offers.

For PPC books, read Advanced Google Adwords:

Perry Marshall has some highly respected learning materials for PPC, adwords and FB in particular. Not affiliate oriented, but good.

There really is no shortage of materials for learning PPC, but you have to get all the fundamentals right. Make sure you are at a level where you pass the Google Advanced and Bing certifications. This is not for the credentials (although they will help you if you want to get a job later), but because at least you will know you will not be doing anything foolish.
