Facebook Advertising Dating, The way to go?

Hello it's my first day on this forum (intro here ) so i should be reading more and posting less or even not at all but i really like the get this ball rolling...

And i think my approach may be totally wrong... the only ad I've had on Facebook before I started this dating campaign was "optimized to get more likes on your Page" (paying less than 0.05 per like) and it was promoting a CPA offer and i'd post a graphic on my page a few times a day at the suitable time for the country i was targeting, work perfectly right off the bat...

So i'm my target audience is:

  • who live in Australia
  • age exactly 50 and older
  • who are male
  • who are single
  • who are interested in women
  • who are not already connected to Australian Singles
My current plan of attack was/is to pay for likes and then post daily with a aff link on my page, the post then shows to friends etc... of the people who have liked the page and it get more likes/views for free that way and seems more viable to me... however people here recommend direct linking the ad? with no landing page (or direct to landing page provided by the offer)

I set up a campaign with 6 photos that i thought where good and quickly learned that professional shot don't work and natural and eye catching ones do (inviting.. you could say) i masked the affiliate link with a domain using godaddy's domain masking like this http://aliveandready.com/ kinda stupid name if you ask me... but it doesn't show a massive affiliate link anymore which might help conversions?

After spending $16 on 25 likes i decided that just jumping into a dating niche might not be a good plan for a method i used to target 18 - 28 year olds on a cpa/ppd offer regardless of how well it worked at the time..

Am i right in thinking it's a good ideal to direct link and maybe switch to targeting Games? as a easier start.. looking at this dating offer (on cupid) which is paying 0.40 a lead and 90% of sale it just doesn't seem plausible currently ... as someone here said "Gaming is easier then dating"

As for offers I'm with cupid, cj, clickbank and have just sent off a application to F5 Media... is there anywhere where i might find some good gaming offers? I've had a look on offervault.com but... not what i expected..

*I'm new so again sorry if this isn't right for one reason or another... it's 5.51am and i'm yet to sleep! Thanks for your time (and tips hopefully) plan to read more of the forum posts tomorrow (well later today really) and really looking forward to it!

Gaming is certainly easier when it comes to getting ads approved and account safety, but not necessarily easier to get profitable. Gaming on FB is very competitive and offer payouts are generally much lower than CPL dating offers. Most of my AM work has been gaming on FB.

Good networks for games:
iQU - lots of choice, reasonable amount of games that permit social, decent AM support
WolfStormMedia - Decent gaming line up and greater % allowing social.

Ad4game - Most gaming offers I've ever seen but virtually none allow social.
MotiveInteractive - Haven't joined but a good idea, they have a lot of games and I believe a lot of FB gaming apps are available via them.
Matomy - Lots of everything, games included, integrates with MobAffTracker, platform can be a bit convoluted.
Adsimilis - Not a huge selection (some are disallowed on social) but some unique games pop up that you often don't see elsewhere.

Thanks Zeno, Everything you post seems to be super helpful!

Seems http://motiveinteractive.com/ is invite only....

I am curious what people have to say about gather likes on a page and then advertising later rather than direct linking. I have been considering doing this myself.

Any experience???

If your not looking to build a facebook-page-brand or cloaking, then you want to either direct link or use an actual landing page (pre-sell page build in html/php etc..) that sells the offer to your demograpahic!
