Ideal setup for high CTR Facebook campaigns?

Would you go with CPM?

I have some ideas I want to test on Facebook, mainly collecting emails of people interested in a certain topic, so you could say it's an email submit. I'm not selling anything, and in my experience the CTR and conversion will be high.

However, Facebook CPC for US traffic is quite high.

Would you go with CPM if you expect decent CTR? Is there a method to achieving very cheap US clicks?

Yes, you can manage to get very cheap clicks on Facebook by having a higher CTR. You can achieve a higher CTR mostly by finding good images for your topic. I would not advise you to use CPM as Facebook outright said that they prefer CPC ads and thus, you will get your ad listed on the most shitty places in Facebook..

Edit: It's only worthwile to go after CPM ads if you have really really high CTRs, otherwise it will cost you money even if you don't get clicks!

But isn't optimized CPM set by default when creating a new campaign? If they preferred cpc wouldn't that be default?

I've had clicks for less than a penny in the past few months for optimized CPM, but only did it for about a week and haven't been able to replicate that since early July.

oCPM is relatively new. It is quite likely a lot of the ads that dominate the top of the ad column are oCPM-based - lots of brand advertisers and non-affiliates who will give Facebook higher eCPMs because they're willing to pay for the actions they want (e.g. leads, app installs). The problem with oCPM is you will need a large budget to let FB test bids and iterate toward the highest performance setup... all the while your ads may burn out and make it all for naught, and in the end none of the ads may be profitable anyway. In this respect CPC may be better for most affiliate campaigns...

However like all things you have to split test to know for sure. I don't like oCPM to be honest, I think it has made the FB landscape more volatile and confusing. Variable bids = tiered competition for all the different ad spots, much harder to get decent CTR ads that stick and then there's the whole confusion with ads increasing in CTR and increasing in CPC at the same time -> ROI ± bazillion? This is the exact situation where oCPM would help, since we all know testing different CPC bids can be a nightmare.

Anyway, if going for email submits and FB page engagement definitely try it all. If your CTR is high and you can get $0.01 clicks then oCPM is a great bet, beat that price floor down!

OK, funny story, I had one of my employees open a Facebook account and add the credit card, and create an ad. The business credit card is under my name but it's never been a problem anywhere. Facebook Ads got suspended because the name doesn't match.

We filled out the form, does Facebook ever reply? How long do they take?

I also tried it under my account but now of course my card is flagged and can't be used.

You will get a message soon from Bob. If you are persistent and will explain the situation, you will get your account back up and running. I dont understand why they banned your account in the first place. My Facebook name and my credit card name are also different!
