My First $X.XXX Day! (39)

My First $X.XXX Day!

Hi Stackers,

I know I should have posted on the Introduction thread when I joined back in April this year, so I apologize for being so anti-social. But I was in a hurry, a really ugly situation on the physical level (health issues) and on the economical aspect (jobless and with lot of debts).

So here a bit of about me: I've worked as a Web Master, UI Designer and last as a Developer for the past 14 years since I was 17. I never felt happy with a shitty job where the bosses were stupids and I knew I would not make it. I have to drop off the college cuzz I couldn't afford it and also I felt the system was not for me since I like to learn practical things, not just fucking theories.

Well, long story short, back in 2006 I worked for Hamlet Batista, a well recognized SEO guy from my country. I learned a bit about SEO and Internet Marketing since he got rich doing this. I had my first taste of success when I ranked some RX websites for the blue pill with little effort of SEO and they made me $7,000 after a year.

I then had my first taste of success with FB back in 2008 when FB was in his glory and all was easy. I was broke, so I used $600 in FB vouches and generated $2,600 with a pin submit offer for Australia in just a week. I was really stupid cuzz I forget about IM when I got a Gov Job and was back to the comfort zone.

Well, This year I lost that Job, I joined this forum on April this year and started reading like an animal, 18 hours a day non stop. I started on PoF with Dating, two totally new things for me, after a week was making profits, 3 weeks after I was doing days for $200+ on POF.

I need rapid cash and more volume, so I burned like $6k or more on Adult, I sometimes broke even or lost some. But I was never minding the money lost, I was not even scare to burn $1k per day, I was collecting data and learning the plaftform, my Focus was always that, I didn't allow space for negative thought. My mindset was correct from the start

I realized my VPS was not enough for the volume, so I upgraded my server, tracking system, and heck I went really deeper this time and made those $6k back in just one week.

Today I reached my first $x,xxx Day, and that camp just ran for 8 hours since I ended up maxing out the CC and I'm not able to pay it online (my country sucks at banking).

So, I felt I should've posted this, because I owe this forum part of that success and I know there are a lot of people in a bad situation like me. The key to success is not thinking about the money lost or money earned from start. Try to focus on tracking all the factors u can, have not fear to try things other haven't. Don't just do what others tell you to do.

This is a Maths game, the more factors you track, the more data you collect, the more you can optimize to make more profits. Don't just keep throw shit to the wall, you gotta develop a system of specific steps for the whole process. And for the God's sake, be sure your sales funnel is smooth, don't match apples with oranges.

(I bolded some important things if u don't wanna read that wall of text)

Congrats man, that's awesome! Well done sir. I love seeing these stories, they help me keep my eye on the prize.

Keep at it brother!

Stay hungry, it's easy to get comfortable.
Hard to keep focus.

Don't lose the focus...

Congrats!!!

09-09-2013 06:22 AM #6 cosmeivan ()

Thanks Tono, you're right. The thing is I'm always hungry

I have a lot of ideas and things I wanna do, but I got to keep it one a time since last time I did so many things at once ended up losing $$.

Is kinda hard to keep a few camps, let alone 20+ of these. When cash flow get good enough I'll have more room to experiment!

It's funny how people only post when they have success on here, and never with failures. Newbies need to remember this.

Dude, you need to change your mindset.... If you're not failing you're not trying hard enough... Success only comes after continuous failure!

The fact that others are succeeding should be enough to show that it can be done....

I took it to mean what you said, reminding people that there is a lot of unreported failure as part of the process. Not to feel bad and quit thinking everyone else is destroying it with ease.

oh I fail plenty, and succeed.. I don't post it though, at all. If I'm not going to post my failings, I shouldn't post my success either imo.. I just think people new to this should be aware more that failing is part of the game.

It's like trading boards I use, they all post "closed a trade for +40 points" and never post any losing trades.. when losing is part of the trading game too..

Gotcha! ;-) Anything worth doing has failure as part of the game; thats a given... Money, women, whatever... But, i view the success stories as a way to see that if someone else can succeed so can you (anybody)... Unless an individual feels that someone else is better/more capable than they are...

Great Work! I love hearing stories like this. Currently I am seriously in the Red on PoF but reading things like this sure gives me hope!

Keep us all posted on the continued success.

in regards to the people never posting their failures, it's kind of taken for granted that everyone is launching new campaigns / failing regularly, it would be a very depressing / negative board if people only posted their failures. The reason the success stories are exciting / motivating is because it gives hope to all the other people who are still trying / failing. I don't understand what would be achieved by people posting their failures. Negativity crushes creative thinking, would hardly be beneficial to the board. Also some of the success posts do list that they tried x, y, z, and failed, but then they finally buckled down and focused on one thing and that's when they started to crush it. I think that is the important take away point.

09-10-2013 12:14 AM #21 cosmeivan ()

Exactly what Keepitsimple said.

@dynamicsoul: sorry if you can only see the glass as half empty, it is implied that I had a lot, A LOT of campaign failed. There is not magic to this game.
I wasn't to clear and very short, but I clearly stated I was in a hurry and I burned a lot of money really fast, that's why I was able to collect data and optimize quickly.

I also mentioned that I was jobless and working 18+ hours 7 days a week, non stop. For a person with a normal life this would have taken a lot more. Everything is relative.

I sacrificed everything and put all my efforts on this. And since you have forgotten the purpose of posting these success stories I'll tell you that I READ A LOT OF THESE STORIES and 80% of my success came from them. I keep going by the motivations I find, I use any negative energy and turn it to positive. I try to learn from any experience, be it negative or positive (which is relative to each person, btw).

Would you feel better if I deleted this thread?

btw, why do you assume I'm a newbie? I was new to the traffic source and vertical, but got a lot of skills.

Nothing great, just the VPS 4GB, 3 Cores, with LightSpeed. I was on 1GB ram.

Congrats Cosmeivan. That's awesome. Hard work pays off. Keep on doing your thing. Can't wait to see you update this thread with an even bigger number in the future.

Scarcity. Same reason the newspaper never talks about the family that drove home safely.

Regarding the bolded... just because a country doesn't get blown up every day (and we're not reporting every day to say it's not blown up), do you think we shouldn't report if a bomb wiped it off the map?

If you want some failures, read all the follow-alongs and see where people stumbled or failed completely.

Great job OP, congrats on the success!

Hey Cosmeivan

My comments weren't directed solely at this thread, it's all the willy waving threads that pop up on here.

Just yours was the one that I decided to comment on. Offence not intended.

Good luck.

Well, money gets u more sex, these to thing go hand in hand. And we are helping a lot of ppl get laid instead of just whacking off to those tubes (I really hope so).

09-17-2013 01:29 PM #35 cosmeivan ()

Well, a bit of an update. I have been testing more factors and keeping up with other traffic sources since the ROI and stability on Adult is like a roller-coaster.

I will try to stay in the sanity (profits) vs vanity (gross revenue) as Finch says.

Some major issues I've had to deal with are the DDOS Attacks happening to my Hosting company for the last week, just woke up today to find out my websites down and a negative balance on Exoclick.

Which hosting companies would you recommend for a realiable VPS or semi dedicated server? Your help would be much appreciated.

By the end of this month I will catch some breath and will try to provide some tips on this thread!

09-17-2013 11:43 PM #36 mehdi (Member)

Beyondhosting.net or Amerinoc are proven winners for hosting, also if you drive a lot of volumes use a CDN to make your creatives/lps load faster !

Mehdi

Congrats! Lots of these threads lately

09-22-2013 12:05 AM #38 cosmeivan ()

Thanks Mehdi, my hosting is BH, they have been great, just a few attacks last week.

But now that you mention it, I'll try a CDN since I'll be focusing on European countries.
