Using a pop-under offer on your landers??? (5)

Using a pop-under offer on your landers???

Does anyone add pop-under code to their adult-dating landers to display a second offer on the self-serve networks? (Exo, TJ, TF ect..) Seems like a good way to squeeze out some extra ROI for those users who are already a member of your main offers or who might even sign up for both.

But I'm not sure if the advertising networks allow it and I'm hesitant to ask the networks directly because they may watch my account closer lol. Do you have to add it to your lander after your campaign approval? And how harsh are the self-serve networks if they were to catch you? I was reading the TOS on Exo and a account ban sounds really bad, no refund on any funds currently loaded into the account. Yikes!!

Has anyone ever been caught doing this and if so were you insta-banned or given a warning?

Also, for the pop-under offer do you prefer to use 1.) a direct link that displays the merchant offer opt-in page as soon as the user closes their main browser window 2.) do you use a similar rules type lander with a few questions to click through or 3.) use a one click eye catching, quick PPV type lander?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't know about the terms on different adult traffic sources, but I do know that a LOT of people pop webcam offers under their adult landers.

Hi clubrock,

We have split tested running a pop-under with cam offers on the prelander (A. Banner > LP > Adult dating & Cams) vs the regular flow (B. Banner > LP > Adult dating).
This resulted in a drop in CR% on flow B but the extra revenue coming from the cam offers compensated enough the balance the ROI to be close to equal.
Moving on we experimented with sound vs no sound, also here no significant growth in ROI.

Why did the CR% drop? Could be numerous reasons: distraction, annoyed, influence in loading time?

Regarding the traffic sources; we tested it on the major traffic sources but double check their T&C or ask your rep since we don't want to be responsible for possible suspension of your account.

This test ran only in Western Europe (non-English) on Advidi. In our experience users from different GEO's can react totally different to these kind of experiments so run an A/B test and see for yourself!

Interesting!

Is the pop-under triggered at the same time as the LP load? I'd imagine if the drop in CR% was related to annoyance or distraction, it could be improved by triggering the pop later in the funnel (or if there's no sign of a conversion)?

@Finch: Just double checked with development, the cam offer was loaded on the IA click for this test. When you are running a multiple step lander you could experiment with a pop-under on the (first) questions or on the exit navigation to squeeze more out of your traffic.
