How do you know if your day was productive. Do you judge it by the amount of tasks you finished, or you judge it by the amount of money you have made today compared to yesterday.
Do you compare yourself with other affiliates? Some are happy to make $100/day, for others $1,000 is not big deal. The thing is if you dont have some etalon to compare yourself to, you cant really see where you stand.
One method i personally use sometimes is i list the things i did today. Then i imagine a top affiliate , some imaginary person. But i know he is the top: then i ask myself what he would have done today in my place.
When you ask this question. What HE would do today if he was me? I get so many things HE would do, that I didnt. Then i sit and compare what i did and what he would do. And if before i felt like i accomplished a lot today, now i feel i havnt accomplished anything compared to him.
Then i jump on doing the things he would have done if he was in my place. And i have seen some results in $$$ using this method.
This may sound strange but it works. Unfortunately i dont do this kind of comparisons every day. You need some quite time to see this "top affiliate" from aside , and let your imagination flow. Try it.
I think money is not a good measure since there are times when you just test new stuff or have nothing profitable running atm.
I come up with a list of stuff I need to do during the day. The more I cross off the more productive I was.
@rafael3000 - that's a good technique! Visualising a third party who knows what you need to know and asking yourself what they'd do is a very powerful technique - it works startlingly well, particularly if you're facing a lot of confusing or scary choices.
I like the idea of visualization to. It can be a very powerful.
Reminds of that book Psycho-Cybernetics (Maxwell Maltz). Good read if anything interested in stuff like this.
Too many variables to go by money.
I consider my day productive the same way besmir does. I have 2 lists:
1. Important
2. Not as important
I try to cross off a good % of #1, and smaller % of #2. If so, it's productive and give myself a cookie
