Newbie question regarding domain name

Hi -

I have a question regarding domain names. If I find a offer that I want to promote, say in dating, do I register a domain name related to that offer to make my landing page? If that is the case, should I register a new domain for every new offer that I promote? Say I jump from dating to a gaming offer, the dating domain is going to seem weird to promote my gaming offer?

Is this the norm or does the domain name not matter when creating a landing page? Or should I just register one generic domain name and use that for all my different offers?

For testing purposes, you can just create a generic domain name and then move towards a more specific domain once you find something to focus on.

Some niches emphasize domain names more than others. Niches that require much more authoritative proof such weight loss or biz opps, may require a better domain name.

Most people buy domains for that specific niche. Dating domains for dating niches. Gaming domains for gaming niches.

However, I've seen generic domains registered like .com-123.net and configured the subdomains like:

AsianDating.com-123.net
ChristianSingles.com-123.net
MonopolyGames.com-123.net

I'm not sure how much it affects conversion rate as I haven't done a lot of testing on it. I'm sure somewhere in STM can shine some light on this.

Ok perfect, I'll register a couple domain names then that are related to the niches that I want to go towards. Thank you for the reply.

Will be interested if anyone can shed light on this as well. With domains like ...

AsianDating.com-123.net
ChristianSingles.com-123.net
MonopolyGames.com-123.net

... isn't the "-123.net" a little spammy and hence makes it less trustworthy to click on ... or does the exact matching "AsianDating.com" trick the user and outweigh the spammier portion?

From my experience domain names don't make a big change , so domains like AsianDating.com-123.net would be fine.
