Hey STM'ers !
Just read the guide form the CPVLab guys about tracking Facebook and pof on CPVlab. I have followed every step, but still my target shows blank, even though i have put the keyword=ad1, keyword=ad2 etc, nothing shows up even when the clicks start flowing in...
Any idea of what might have gone wrong?? have you ever been in similar situation??
It might be simple, but any help from you guys will be much appreciated !
Thanx !!:-D
Hi Sean, maybe I can help as I'm tracking a lot of stuff using CPVLab and FB. Could you post an example of what you're doing to see if I can help?
Thanx Fabian, Lemme get into detail:
1.I first added the facebook traffic source here on cpvlab with the following config:

2.Then I created a campaign keeping facebook as traffic source, again with the following config:

I wanted to track the performance of individual ad in a campaign, ad copy was same, just different images, wanted to track the conversion performance for each of the respective image so i simply added the ID of the specific ad image after keyword=EDIT(replacing EDIT with respective ad reference Eg: ad1, ad2 etc) but when the clicks start flowing, I see no metrics of the specification(ad1, ad2 etc), just simple number of clicks of the total campaign along the column, here:

If you see, it just shows the total number of clicks for a specific campaigns, where the target (i suppose, here the references of ad1,ad2 should come) is just blank, i am unable to figure it out, any help is much appreciated..Im sure that im doing something foolishly wrong here...
Thanx !!:-D
Your keyword token has a capital 'K'.
The 'URL Append Token' and 'Keyword Token' are case sensitive and needs to match
Solution:
either use an upper-case 'K' in the 'URL Append Token' or use a lower-case 'k' in the 'Keyword Token'
example:
URL Append Token: &keyword=EDIT Keyword Token: keyword
URL Append Token: &Keyword=EDIT Keyword Token: Keyword
Changed..Let me update with it, Thanx JasperP !!
I saw something URL Append Token: &keyword= EDIT
Hi Sean! JasperP is right. Also you could play with the extra tokens to do stuff like passing the token to the LP, i.e the age: Want guys over X age... where X is the Age Token (you need to include the get parameter code in the lander)
Example:
http://yourtracker.com/base.php?c=zz...rd=EDIT&age=38 would become:
Want guys over 38
You can add as many tokens as you like
P.S: If you like me to expand on the subject let me know and I can do it here (with uploading facebook reports included
) or hit me up in Skype
Hey fabian, it would be nice, if you can expand the subject with the uploading facebook reports included, I believe others will be benefit.
I think this particular bit might be helpful to quite a few people out there:
Note: CPVLab will come out with a documentation (or probably a better way to this) soon from what I understand.
Here's how you import FB Reports into CPVLab to properly build them and know if you are making the monies
1) Go to CPVLab > Ad Spend Report Templates and build a new template that looks like this:

Note: in the Assign Template To field, if you haven't already set up Facebook as a traffic source in CPVLab, you need to do it:
Go to: Settings > Traffic Sources and add it there.
2) Make sure when you're creating your camps in FB (or change them after, if you want to try this on existing camps) your ad names (In FB) are the same name you include in your &keyword=EDIT token.
For example:
In Facebook, one of my ads is called : AD001 then I'll add that same name in my CPVLab URL:
http://yourtracker.com/base.php?z=00...hfksdjhfksdjhf&keyword=AD001
3) Go to FB Reports and set it up like this and export it:

PRO TIP: most likely you'll be running lots of camps. You can Filter By > Choose Campaign and select only those that you'll like to include in the report!
4) In CPVLab go to > Upload Reports and upload the .csv file you just downloaded from FB

Important: If the report you downloaded from FB is from today, make sure you select the SAME date in CPVLab or it won't work. Always make sure both the dates on FB and the Report are the same.
Also, make sure you select the FACEBOOK REPORT TEMPLATE.
Upload ad visualize your report with accurate CPC, EPC, ROI, etc.
Hope it helps!
@fabian Great post!
Would you mind reposting that as a separate post in the Tracking section? I think a lot of people would find it really useful to have a tutorial on uploading spend reports.
