TrafficJunky: Campaign Rejected because of Facebook Color Scheme on Offer?!
I have been running $XX.XXX worth of traffic to the same offer over the course of a month now and today suddenly all of my new ads got disapproved with the reason:
"<OfferName> landing page similiar to facebook color scheme please change colors for approval"
Mind you, the FB color scheme isn't even on my landing page, but on the offer page.
Is this some new kind of guideline or is it a one off thing because of a grumpy approval guy?

Maybe they want to run direct?

I've had banners disabled b/c of FB color but never because of the offer.
I think it's just the guy that approved , try again and I think it should be approved.

Shagaholic?
Hasn't happened to me before. Sounds like a mistake on approval team's part.
Pretty annoying for it to happen just before the long weekend!
I forgot to fund my TJ account on Friday and now my ads have been paused for 3 days...

The approval team of TJ sucks completele, one guy approves, the other one disapproves... Just reupload them a few times, I'm pretty sure it will be enabled after a few trys.

No, it was Dating Area.
Fortunately, in the end I managed to get the ads approved just in time for the weekend.
Regarding your funding issues, if you get your credit card(s) approved afaik deposits should be instant and not require their offices to be open. Definitely good to have as a backup option to Wires / Paypal etc.
I also seem to have a gift to forget funding just in time for the juicy weekend traffic, so I feel you

Yeah with Labor Day and the approvals team being out of office, I bet yesterday had some pretty sweet profit margins for those who remembered to fund their accounts!
Easy mistake...
And costly...

Hey andyvon,
Imitation of Facebook with similar icons, notifications, lay-out, and/or colour scheme is not allowed. I took another look at the offer page and just a simple change of the colour would get your campaign approved. Is this do-able?

Not really as the site in question is not my landing page, but the advertiser's offer page. I have my own landing page in between which doesn't use anything Facebook related.
So just to be clear, these restrictions are not only for the page the visitor lands on after clicking the banner, but also for each subsequent site that he could end up on by clicking a button, closing the page etc?

Hi andyvon,
The reason we don't allow imitating Facebook on the ads and the landers also applies to why we don't allow it on the offer page. That reason has to do with protecting ourselves from potential legal repercussions from allowing ads or sites that imitate Facebook to be advertised. We'd rather not risk it and make sure that there's no resemblance to Facebook at all. Is there another offer page you can use? Advertisers I've worked with before have been able to use another page or change the colour. Get in touch with me and I'll work closely with you to make sure everything is compliant before its set up into a campaign.

There are other offer pages, but the one I was using is by far the best performer.
I tested a couple different ones myself even though my affiliate manager pretty much told me "don't even bother running the other ones, this one is performing the best and everybody is running it." and came to the same conclusion.
While this restriction obviously has negative effects for me short-term, I can see where you are coming from and it makes total sense from a business perspective. Just gotta improve my ads and find a way to make up for the lower conversion rate on the offer page.
Thanks for giving your input, I really appreciate it!

Could you ask your AM to ask the advertiser to supply an identical lander with a different colour theme? 1) would be trivial and 2) always be split testing (FB blue vs calming green vs action orange?)

My pleasure- we always try to help out where we can. If you're not sure about an ad, lander, or offer page you can always run it by me and I'll let you know what tweaks need to be made to have it up to regulations. If you ever need an advertising rule clarified to you or explained just get in touch with me and I'll take the time to explain it.
Regards,
Warren

@andyvon
Want to share the offer here and see if we can get it explained for the forums by Warren?
