Useful New Apps/Tools for AM
Here's a quick linkdump of a bunch of new tools I've run across recently that look to be useful for affiliate marketing and related stuff:
- PlaceIt: Great little tool that allows you to generate a picture of a website or app being used in real life. Lovely subtle social proofing stuff, particularly for loan, travel, and similar verticals.
- Numbeo: super-detailed info site for cost of living, crime rates, property prices etc all over the world. Really useful for planning your next travel destination.
- SideProjectors: Buy webapps that other creators (usually ones who can't market for shit) haven't been able to get profitable. More IM than AM, but an interesting potential long-term traffic source generator.
- A/B Testing Tools From Evan: super-mathsy statistics tools. If you want to get hardcore with your statistical analysis, these'll do that. Most useful for me was the sample size predictor; easily figure out how many clicks you need for statistical significance before starting your test.
- SonicFire: Doing a video or audio reel as part of your campaign? This thing's an absolutely astonishing tool for generating matched music for your ad. FAR better than the usual stock music options. Here's a video which demonstrates it.

- Lastpass: Store passwords, including multiples for each site (gmail, networks, etc). Automatic form filling. Share with workers etc.

Oh, yeah, definitely. If you're not using something like LastPass, you REALLY should be.

Merci,
I use 1Password over lastpass, it's a nicer interface, and stores ALL of my info's.

What up J!
Yup that was me.... and I actually lied my way to get on the show. suckas!
But actually, I think of it as competitive marketing. Everyone gets interviewed to try and get on the show, and I came up with a more compelling and interesting story.
I told them that I just graduated from college and worked at the beach as one of those "robots" that are sprayed in silver paint. Then I told them, "On a good day, I made around $40".
I sealed the deal when I started doing the robot in my interview.
A couple hours later on the set, they're calling my name! ... and no one to give me high-fives! lol

In order to get on the show, I figured I needed to stand out so I showed enthusiasm and excitement towards my job as a Beach Robot.

LastPass is amazing if you work in teams and don't want to reveal passwords to team members.
You can build shared folders. Like ContractorName, then put in the resources they need to use. If for some reason they don't work out forever you just unshare and all the passwords are removed. Also, you can store the password in 1 place. So if 10 people use it you don't have a spreadsheet with password to be stolen or whatever. If someone loses it and updates the pass with the spreadsheet route then all 9 other people are like hmm wtf happened cause they have it saved in their local password saver.
We have roughly 1,000 login/pass for A4D and related companies. So it's a life saver.

Haha this thread has interested me in two ways.
1. This is dope http://placeit.breezi.com/productshots/
2. Gaming game shows has always fascinated me, I read a book on how a guy won who wants to be a millionaire. Then saw a documentary of how the guy cheated to win who wants to be a millionaire. Both very interesting.
Another tool that I use a lot for AM is a chrome extension called firebug. I wrote about it here.
