How to run a mastermind group (10)

How to run a mastermind group

Does anyone have any advice on how to run an effective mastermind group?

I'm thinking 3-5 people max works best, as I've been involved in a couple before but they all ballooned to over 15 people and it turned into a chat room!

- how often do you meet up?
- is Skype the way to go, or Google hangout, or other?
- it will be based around a specific niche, but how best to work it? Do you all focus on a specific offer, traffic source, do you share creatives, etc... I realise the key to a mastermind is sharing openly, but how far do you all go?
- how best to run the sessions when everyone gets together?

It would be really useful to hear from you guys who have been involved in effective mastermind groups to learn how they were run, and also advice on what not to do.

How did Josh, Lorenzo, Jordan et al run the Hunger Game groups, as it appears they were EXTREMELY successful?

cheers.

From my experience what has worked.

1. Skype
2. Talking daily, but scheduled bi weekly meetings.
3. Google doc with important information that can't be buried in skype chat.
4. Tasks set like X spend within a week. Must attend 90% of meetings or you are cut
5. Common focus whether its niche or traffic source. Traffic source generally works better.
6. Assign a chairman. Rotating chairman for the meetings would work good to get everyone involved.
7. The more you share the more the group benefits.
8. I privately messaged my members after a couple of weeks if they were happy with the level that each individual member was contributing. If there was a common compliant, yellow card was handed out. Next time RED!

If done well, the brain power and learning speed of a mastermind group will dwarf any progress you can get done on your own.

Jennifer Lawrence is going to grace us with her presence in Hunger Games 2 later this year, are we going to see another STM hunger games? I missed out on some interesting competition last year.

Anyone going to defend the title?

Haha get with the game Jasper. We've had Hunger Games 2 already. Team Asia Pacific defended the title once again.

Hunger Games 3 should be on the horizon soon.

And how to choose best co-workers for such group? Think there are many of those who just can't propose nothing valuable for group and just want to learn from those who can... Do you interview and ask some questions before accept?

One way would be to start out with a larger mastermind of like 10 people, start socializing with members separately, build trust etc and start a more "intimate" mastermind with the ones that fit the best.

I was looking into this same topic because I plan to start a mastermind in a couple of months. Found a kindle book that is actually surprisingly good "Mastermind Groups: The Fastest & Safest Way to Grow Your Business." Gives good advice on how to form and manage a mastermind group. Written in Dec. 2012 so the info is still very relevant.

Today I come up with idea how to use mastermind groups to hire people for affiliate marketing. For a couple of month I'm looking for people who should do some routine work like making ads... It's good idea to prepare challenge for newbies and the prize is full day job with good salary but only for winners. During that challenge they would demonstrate their traits... Thanks for the idea...
