how are you able to create custom audiences?
i've seen one piece of software fbleadchef but its pc only.
seems like you can scrape specific groups or pages etc.
then load them up and create a custom audience, then setup campaigns just to them.
anyone?
was acting manager of our Facebook ads department for a short time
as far as i remember, the only way to do Custom Audience is to use option to export Facebook User IDs from own application. But can the same be done Group or Fan page?
someone sent me socialleadfreak.com
looks like it'll extract the id's.
Ahhh, I've been looking for a scraper like this for a while. Anyone know of any others? Or have tested this one's ability to scrape? I haven't done any custom audience based campaigns yet but it's on my to-do list.
@angelinvest yes you can get them from group/event/fan pages etc. Basically, you can scrape through the page source code to get the FB user IDs of people who have commented or taken other actions. As far as I know, as of today, these user IDs are unobscured, but FB may change things... In any case I don't think user ID can be linked to someones profile and account name for privacy reasons thus they are usable for advertising.
seems like its the way to really use fb.
tight audiences based on interest.
should have a high CTR and ROI (key word being should)
and the ads are then focused on interest.
Well, FB already has 'interests', I think the key difference here is 'engagement', since any UserIDs you scrape will be from people who have actively engaged with a brand, page or event. Of the say, 100,000 people that might have liked a page, only a few thousand may actively engage with it and they are undoubtedly a more responsive audience for relevant advertisements. This + retargeting? Gotta be pots of gold out there.
ya... it doesnt scrape likes... .thats against FB TOS.... but it does scrape from posts in the group... engaged fans.
haven't gotten into the interests part yet..... did a custom audience with my email list.... so will be marketing ads to them
i'm already retargetting on fb with PA.... should be interesting.
How would fb know if you scraped ID's from the interaction users i.e likes, comments?
They can't tell - it's fine to do so, but you can't get them from likes because, as far as I know, it is not possible to get a listing of all users who like a page.
Wondered if there was a way to see the id's of the people who liked a status or picture for example
