Help on starting a campaign on Facebook

Hi everyone

First real post here after reading through all the material.

I have been advertising on FB for a while now to grow my fanpage, and then monetizinf with ads in the posts, which is working okay.

However I want to start my first real campaign for my own product.

The product is called How to Become an Advanced Early Riser

I have a few different angles with this and started 5 ads:

I have had no traffic at all with these yet as I have just started them about 6 hours ago.

As these ads okay to start with?

My thinking is see what angle works best and then scale it up.

What are your thoughts?

1. Work on your images - besides actual image choice, they are all, bar the clock, blurry and don't make the greatest use of the image space. Images need to stand out and capture attention.

2. In my opinion your demographics are far too big. Targeting over 40 million people with a huge age bracket is not going to make optimisation easy. You will have no idea where the highest response rate (CTR) and backend CVR are coming from. For the healthy ad for instance I would chop down to age brackets of only a couple of years or focus on a demographic you think will be more interested. If going broad you really need to put a lot more effort into testing ads/images/demographics etc. Try targeting related products e.g. fatlossfactor, weight watchers etc.

3. For the mother-angled ad you could be using the broad interest category that suggests they are parents (there are a few of them).

4. Not sure what your bids are but they will undoubtedly need to be higher than the suggested max.

5. On the backend, is your product page well-tested? Are you split testing it? Do you have angle-specific pages? Collecting their email first rather than sending straight to a sale page?

Yup when you're new with FB advertising, you should setup targeted (narrow) campaign, not broad campaign, your campaigns are too broad and too way less targeted, absolutely for sure not everyone in that size of demo interested on your stuff

Thanks for your input guys.

I have taken up your suggestions and have added a new, angle specific, page for the healthy angle. I have also narrowed the ads down to 5 year age ranges and upped the bids to the top end just now. With regard to the squeeze page, I am thinking about writing angle specific ebooks for readers to sign up to, but this will take some time. What I will do is try the healthy angle first, get that going well with a squeeze page and ebook and then scale it up from there.

Really appreciate your input.
