1 Easy Way to Find Insanely Profitable Ad Buys

Search for websites with a Donate button.

If a webmaster in a profitable space is looking for donations (most common on forums and blogs), you can typically assume that he'll accept an offer which is profitable for you.

I recently found a community asking for donations in the adult / escort space.

After emailing the owner, I secured a 3 month banner placement for $500.

I made that money back in the first 72 hours. It has been the most profitable campaign I've ever run, and probably the easiest too.

If you spend enough time combing your niche, you will eventually find communities run by hobbyists who know a lot about their topic (enough to attract Google and 1000s of users), but not enough about monetizing.

The donate button is a giveaway sign...

Start emailing and you will get yourself a good deal.

Tip: Always suggest 3 months advertising instead of 1.

If somebody is looking for donations, cashflow is their nemesis. By paying 3 months in advance, you make the deal more enticing for the webmaster who gets a quick cash injection, while lowering your CPC - often by up to 50%.

Dangerous TIP! I've done something similar, but never even considered the donate button.

6-7 years ago i owned a fight video website . It was monetized 12 different ways! I would buy traffic from all the other fight video websites for 1cent a click because most of them only had CPM banners on their sites.
I was spending ~$70 a day to make ~$300-$400 and getting endlesssss permanent backlinks from their plugs.

What do you guys suggest as a formula for your offer amount?

finch... another gem.

how are you figuring out the amount to spend?

also... assuming you're just running 1 banner? how are you able to test?

I would say that you could pickup a list in your niche using Meanpath or GeekyTools I think I.e. https://meanpath.com/f/7YZV1Y

Niche + paypalobjects.com + donate or similar.

Basically locate PayPal button code in source of sites in your niche.

Not used this myself yet but just occurred to me after Finch mentioned it.

Simple and brilliant! Love this out of the box thinking.

That's brilliant. Can't believe I've never thought of it.

Ask how much there donate button makes on a monthly basis, and then offer 1.5x the amount paid upfront

respect.

I'm seeing 0 results via the Meanpath link that James posted. Same results when I play around with the search terms. Eg. (niche of choice) + paypal + donate. Is everyone seeing the same thing, or am I missing something?

Generally I'm only running campaigns that I've already established on conventional traffic sources. I'll take a banner that I know works and link it to a CPVLab campaign, then test the LPs/offers. The idea is that your margins should be so strong, you don't need to optimise as aggressively as you would on, say, TJ or POF.

And if you need to, just email the guy to change banners.

As for cracking how much to spend... I look at it from the perspective of "How much does this guy know about monetizing? e.g Amazon? AdSense?", then "How much could he realistically expect to earn in a month?"

Also, how many donations is he receiving already?

You can offer a pretty stingy deal and then sugarcoat it by offering:

1) To pay today.
2) To donate X amount to his site as a 'thank you'.

The extra donation labels you as some kind of wandering good samaritan, and this will often get you a sweeter deal than offering plain old dirty ad monies.

boom.

great reply... thanks.

makes sense. use the ad(s) that are already working.

in my case its all running my own offers... vs testing various ones as an aff.

It worked for me, might be worth giving their support desk a shout. Adam, the founder there, is pretty friendly and eager for feedback as they are in beta.

There are a few quirks to the tool for sure but he'll probably be able to sort you out or run something through their backend interface if necessary. He's done that for me a few times :-)

Damn this is so sick thanks Finch, didn't think to look for the donation button, but I've definitely spent hours and hours searching for porn/adult sites with very poor monetising, easy as money when you put the work in!

If you're looking to do this with adult there are adult webmaster forums (they'll remain nameless for now) where all the webmasters have their websites in their signatures. Spend 1 day scouring every sig, and then you can find a bunch of smaller sites and you have an easy point of contact via the forums

Probably can do this in other niches too!

You can *definitely* do this in other niches: tech, gaming, mommy bloggers just off the top of my head.

now i need to hire some pino's to do this for me...

09-19-2013 07:03 AM #18 johnnybegood (Member)

anyone find an automated method for this? I do have a pino actively looking for solo ad swaps, it occured to me I can hit 2 birds with one stone and just ask to place a banner too , but the donate button is deffy a BOOM!

I would say use scrapebox for searching the forums. I bet there would for sure be a plugin in scrapebox to search source code.
