Exoclick Domains Targeting?

Hey peeps,

Can anyone explain a little more about Domains Targeting under the Advanced Settings tab?

I thought it was for blocking domains but I'm not sure it is, since you would just not target the site that was performing badly.

Cheers

You can either put in domains you want to exclude with a "-", e.g. "-xhamster.com", or set up a list of sites you want to target by using "+", e.g. "+xhamster.com".

This is for RON campaigns, if you are running premium placements it does not matter.

just as a clarification, if you put any domains down as whitelist by adding "+" as andyvon mentioned, those become the ONLY sites that campaign targets.

Also, for some reason Exoclick puts your campaign in RON sometimes, when you're targeting premium placements, because they are disappearing, or sometimes, for no reason in my opinion...

That's why I always put negative placements (nearly all of them lol) to be sure that my campaigns are not displayed on these sources.

^^ Thanks Julien. How would you spot this happening?

I still haven't figured out why it happens on web campaigns, I asked twice to a rep, he wasn't able to give me a decent explanation :S

Hmmm, that seems lame. Thanks Julien, so just grab all of the domains you are targeting and add them to the list, like -domain.com?

Had that happen when the campaign was created or changed in Chrome... I was told to use FF only ... and it never happened again ...

Ah, ok. I use Firefox, so job done then.

I can confirm , it's a bug that happens on Chrome.

Use FF / Safari and you should be good.

Well, sorry for upping the thread again but seriously, I'm still getting RON traffic when I target premium placement.
The discussion with the support doesn't help at all...
It's getting very frustrating.

First, they told me to never include -domain.com...
Then they told me that the responsible of the bug was tnaflix.com because it's a toolbar traffic site...
A couple of test later the result is now I've totally waste my day and my money trying to target 10 spots, and 10 spots only.

If I want to target 1 placement, and 1 placement only, my campaign switches automatically to RON traffic and my ads are on HUNDREDS of placements.
I can't work properly...

I wonder how they managed to be nominated as the best traffic company of the year several times...

If they can't figure this out I'll ask for a chargeback I guess.
