Has anyone installed P202 on Ubuntu - need help?

Hey STM,

I'm running a VPS on Ubuntu (super cheap). I have downloaded and extracted P202 but I need help setting it up. I can't find anything on YouTube.

Is there anyone on here that can help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jay.

There should be install instructions with the P202 files? Basically you upload all the files by FTP, edit the 202-config-sample.php file to give correct settings (and remove the -sample), then you load urr index or install.php in your browser and follow the instructions. Something like that. Try the STM mobile version, it has a PDF guide with it.

The installation process is very similar to installing the STM Mobile Tracker: follow this tutorial but ignore step 2 and you should be good!

One of the errors many people make is to install in on a folder.

P202 can be installed only on the domain root or subdomain root.

Other than that the install process is pretty straightforward, just follow the wizard and you are done.

If you are too lazy to check it here's a summary :

1 - Unzip and upload files to root domain or subdomain
2 - Create a Mysql database and user and give full access to that user to the database.
3 - Rename 202-config-sample.php to 202-config.php and edit the file to have the new database details ( name / user / pass ).
4 - Point your browser to the domain and follow the instructions.

One other thing - if you're setting up your own server you should also go through our Basic Server Security guide. Being hacked is no fun at all
