FB Ad size 110x80 vs 120x120

Hi
I have a question about regular facebook ad size for external linking. This is what i discovered.
On my facebook account when i create new ad I always see recommend ad size is 154x154 and must be minimum 120x120, and i'm wondering how ads 110x80 was created with external linking. Also on spy tool i always see 110x80 ads. Anyone had this problem?

All the Facebook marketplace ads (righthand sidebar) that you can buy are 100x72. Fuck, when did they change from 99x72? Well, best change my ad creation process by 1 pixel now. Damn. Also, they haven't been 110x80 for a looooong time though a lot of people still use 110x80 images = FB downsizes them. Silly advertisers.

They ask for larger images because they assume, like morons, that you will run news feed, page post etc ads AND marketplace ads with the exact same image and let FB downsize them. But you're not an idiot, so you can ignore those warnings that they give you. If you are making normal ads, have images as 100x72. If you are making news feed ads, use appropriately sized images. Find out the exact size your specific type of ad is displayed at and make an image of that size.

Well I just realized that i can upload ad with 100x72. Fuck, i think this is they reason why my ads have low CTR because i upload ad 154x154 then they resize it.
P/s: You're really helpful zeno, i read a lot of thread on FB section and your post really helpful, I just want to say Thank You.

Yeah definitely do not upload oversized ads and let FB take care of it, they will likely be blurry and you can do better in photoshop. Gotta make them images pop! Glad my posts helped you.
