Want to ditch TrafficJunky... Alternative? (13)

Want to ditch TrafficJunky... Alternative?

Can someone refer a traffic source that would be better than TrafficJunky for what I'm doing?

I started on STM about two months ago and wanted to stick with T.J. for a full month and get some good data before judging the traffic source, but now I'm wondering where I can get cheaper traffic.

Scaling has been difficult for me. I've been breaking even, spending around $8k/mo. We have the ability to spend much more though I'd like to see higher margins.

Is it my conversions (I thought they were good for Adult dating?) Typically .40% ctr's on my ads and 5% on landing pages... with offers being 10 to 15%.

When I requested a representative at T.J. I was denied... so I'd rather spend money elsewhere. Or is this typical?

TJ is good, just really competitive. Try Exoclick it's an STM fave for adult.

First thing that stuck out to me is your LP CTR... is it a typo or do you really only have a 5 % LP CTR?

If not a typo, that's pretty terrible, even if you use "misleading" banners such as chat creatives etc and you should definitely work on your conversion flow.

Other than that, +1 for ExoClick, but don't be too excited about the lower CPMs as the quality is usually worse than on TJ, so in the end it's not really "cheaper", at least in my experience.

All in all, I'd suggest that you work on your campaigns instead, maybe start a follow along so the STM rockstars can help you

If you want to make it big in adult TJ is too big to be ignored.

They own the best porn sites in the industry and have tons of quality traffic.

If you really set your mind to drop it the next best is Exoclick.

Exo has tons of traffic too , just tougher to optimize due to the many little sites.

Agreed, especially if the banners are only pulling 0.4% CTRs.

I posted a while ago that 4% seems to be my magic percentage with adult as an overall conversion rate (banner to offer). Your 5% LP CTR would require nearly every user that gets to the offer to convert. Never going to happen.

Pull that LP CTR up towards 20%, and given that you are currently breaking even, it sounds like you'll be making a lot of money.

I'm not sure what market you're operating in, but this doesn't sound like a Traffic Junky problem. Definitely a landing page problem.

That was a typo for my landing page ctr's; those are around 40%. But yes, for my ads, my ctr's are anywhere from .3 to .6%... you are saying that it should be more around 4%?! That would mean for every 10,000 impressions, you would need 400 clicks? That doesn't sound right to me...

Nah, that would be nuts, what he was referring to is the overall conversion rate, see this thread: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...e-Magic-Number

Yeah, 4% is the overall conversion rate I aim for - not the CTR! That would make for a very short career filled with despair.

40% is a very healthy landing page CTR. For your ads, 0.6% is fine in the outer range but 0.3% seems low. Too low.

I usually end up culling any banner with a CTR that drops below 0.45%.

It's definitely possible to squeak an offer conversion rate up towards 20%, so you may want to look at introducing some scarcity and hard-selling in to your landing page. A 5% gain there, combined with hauling your banner CTRs up to 0.6% and you should be in business.

Alternatively, take your campaign in to a market that produces comparable results but is half as competitive. The margins will suddenly align.

TrafficForce has quite good quality traffic! Let me know if you need an introduction, we can hook you up.

The biggest problem with them is that the platform sucks. Very counter intuitive and the bidding is hit and miss.

I like TrafficForce but you need to test each placement like a honeybadger on crack. Some are nice, high-quality, profitable. Others will steal your coat and eat it.

another approach is to find out all the long tail sites (when you setup a Wide campaign. not the big sites. but hte medium volume sites ) on places like Ero & Exo & adx etc etc .

then directly approach some of these smaller sites & prepay them.. self serve is great but sucks up a lot of time

TJ, Exo, Trafficfactory, Trafficforce, Star-advertising, Juicyads (bit of a learning curve for it)

You can make very large money with all of these
