I have some questions about sending traffic to my LP

Hey STMers!

I'm about to start my first, "proper" STM campaign. Here's the lowdown:

Traffic = Facebook

Vertical = Dating

I have a list of LP that I found on STM. I need help with editing/hosting as I'm a rubbish when it comes to graphic design. Specifically, what do I need to do to host the LP on my domain? I have a few generic domains lying around.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have an HTML landing page ready to go, all you need to do is find the outgoing link, change that to the link for your tracking software or affiliate network, and then upload the landing page to your server.

Note: you will probably need a "VPS" server if you don't have one already. Beyond Hosting offer a cheap deal that will get you tracking set up and a server for your landing pages.

For a rundown of how a typical affiliate marketing campaign goes, read "What You'll Actually Be Doing" in this tutorial. That will give you a good idea of what you should be doing to get started!

I own a server (HP ML110 G5 on Windows Server 2003). Can I use that to install Prosper202 and track my campaigns?

Also, how should modify my LPs? Let's say I'm promoting http://www.flirt.com/ (just an example). Should I incorporate the same colours, layout etc? I know I should test all of this myself but I'm want to follow in the footsteps of successful IMers and cut any mistakes.

@cyberdelic - assuming that server's set up as a live Web server for the Internet, and has MySQL and PHP installed, you should be able to use that, yes! Prosper's fairly simple to install - if you're familiar with system administration, you shouldn't have any problems. Here's the download link for Prosper 202.

I'd definitely recommend testing landers that mimic the font, colours and general style of the offer you're promoting, yes - I usually find that boosts conversions. You can even try using most of a screenshot of the offer as a background for your landing page - known as the "Screenshot Lander", for obvious reasons.

I can setup it up as a web server & MySQL isn't that difficult to install. I only use it do download torrents anyway.

I am going to signup to Unbounce and get a few LPs created today!
