Facebook "...To get them to run, activate your funding sources for advertising..."

Hello fellow stackers,

Since yesterday Facebook pauses all my ads and displays this message to me:

Your ads are not currently running. To get them to run, activate your funding sources for advertising. See and modify your current funding sources on the funding page.

It occurs randomly and repeatedly. When I click ACTIVATE YOUR FUNDING SOURCES facebook says:

Congratulations! Your advertising account is now active, and your ads are pending review. Your ads will begin to run shortly, unless you have paused your campaigns.

And a few minutes later all ads are back up. Then randomly some time later, ads get paused and same message again.

Any clues on how to fix this?

Thanks a ton!

UPDATE: now it wont go away anymore, and when I click on it, I get a blank page instead. Old ads are running but new ads I submit remain paused. Anyone??

What funding source are you using? That's probably not important, but it might be.

Hello caurmen! Thanks for the reply. I'm using paypal. I tried adding a CC but it didn't help.

Add several funding sources to your account. When one fails for whatever reason it'll default to the secondary source

Have 3 at the moment. Facebook is not complaining about funding source failing, its some kind of bug I think? I emailed them but nothing...

OK, sounds like you're facing a Facebook bug - which is really irritating for you, I'm sure!

Last time I had something like this on Facebook, I just had to wait a few days for it to suddenly vanish. The support people you've emailed will probably get back in touch with you, but they may take a week or so...

Sorry I can't be more help - FB are a law unto themselves sometimes.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Damn. I suspected so. Thanks caurmen! Maybe it's time for a new FB account then...

UPDATE: Seems It's a widespread problem and Facebook is aware of it. Apparently, they're not giving a damn either:

I got this nasty little bug on 10+ accounts... annoying that's for sure!

Yeah all of my accounts got this. Ads are also taking way longer than usual to get approved.

This just started happening on my account, everything was working fine 10 minutes ago!

I have three funding sources all activated in my account, when I click the Activate Funding Sources link it takes me to a blank page: https://www.facebook.com/ads/ajax/ac...ng_sources.php - yay!

Looks like at least another day of lost Facebook advertising.

Yep, hold your seats because people had this bug 6 months ago and it took weeks for it to vanish. Seems it's back.

Anyone else seeing their links getting blasted non stop by 69.171.2xx.xxx IPs from FB? I woke up to this and thought I was about to be banned/reviewed for sure. They've been hitting all my ads for hours now. I'm getting about 5 hits from FB for every 1-2 real clicks!

I had the funding source error but got rid of it by deleting the new ads I submitted last night. I would get emails that they were approved but they would still be in a pending status and I would get the funding source error. Once I deleted the ads it went away.

Now this...WTF?

Just a headups. Only one of my accounts had this error. When I pressed the "activate your funding source" button it gave me the red box error an hour later(this account's been solid for 6+ months).

I'm thinking when you re-activate the account it puts you through another security check.

I experienced it some yesterday, but everything seems to be working normally for me now.

08-10-2013 10:52 AM #21 river (Member)

I did the same on a fresh account 2 days ago (Only appeared after a new ad was uploaded) and I'm still going so I'll keep you all posted!

I'm also seeing the 69.171.2xx.xxx IP's on another.

08-10-2013 12:52 PM #22 adpro (Member)

Maybe the 69.171.2 ip is a bot checking for cloaking redirects... you know, for losing 100 lbs in 2 days shit... haha

Wonder what would happen if we blocked this entire IP range?

I've had this error before - for me I just waited it out and it vanished in a few days.

Anyone else been seeing a little bug or change with the CTR algo?

Say I get a 0.200 CTR at 15c cpc, it will last for 2-3 days and then out of nowhere it shoots right up to 40-45c?

08-14-2013 12:42 AM #25 lostrich (Member)

Not only was I getting this message on one of my facebook accounts, I was facing a different bug on a different facebook account. Now what these geniuses are doing is taking the dummy site I use for a php script and using that as the display url. So for example, if I have "retrw.com" that I'm running my php script through, the display url is now "retrw.com".

So now I'd have to use the advertiser's url, which is leaving me open to parasites stealing my commissions. Wonderful.
