Path to Crushing it on Facebook. Can't Stop Won't Stop. (22)

Hey guys, I decided it was time for me to make a follow along.

After reading all the amazing success stories on here, I decided it's time to just take the leap and keep going til I kill it on Facebook.

I have set aside about $5,000 to get started with, which should be enough to make Facebook work.

So, a little bit about me...

I've been having some success online in some other areas (SEO, Social Media, and App Development). It's been paying the bills and then some, but I have larger financial goals (I'm aiming to hit $xxx,xxx months like some others here.) I've had some success on POF and Mobile, but my other online projects have seen more success which took up most of my attention. This is the first time I'm totally committed to PPC.

I've been traveling around a bit for the last 15 months (Tampa, Miami, Seattle). But now I'm back home in Northeast Ohio for the time being.

I also managed to have a minor setback recently.

I tore my ACL & MCL playing basketball last month. It sucks, but I'm looking at it as a sign. I'll be sitting around a bit more, which is perfect for getting this follow along started. So hopefully I can get support from the group here as I get started. And hopefully this follow along will turn into something that can help/inspire others to get started too.

So, getting started...


DAY 1:

I have set up hosting with Beyond Hosting, and Tracking is with CPVlab.
I also have an account with SocialAdNinja to get an idea of what is going on.

I am currently approved to run Be2 Australia, so that is what I am starting out with.

I have logged into an old FB account I created about 5 years ago and haven't touched in years. I set up my Credit Card. The account has $50/day spend limit. I believe I read getting it phone verified will bump it up to $250/day.

I have set bidding to $0.31 CPM. It says that targeting will hit about 110k users. That seems kinda low for some reason..

Target demo is 35+ Females. I figure female leads will help keep me on the offer, as well as keep me in better standing on Facebook.

I am doing direct linking for this first campaign, just to get a feel for everything.

I probably won't have much more to report today. I plan on getting a landing page made and tracking set up tomorrow.

Phone Verification can bump you up to $250/daily , but I wonder what can do the other Math - for example - $1K or $5K !

Also what are you guys doing when you got your Facebook Ads Account banned or suspended - how do you proceed ?

I'm still always surprised when I see someone else on here from OH, I'm in the Bath/Akron area. PM me if you want to chat or if you get stuck. 99% of what I do is dating on FB. I've been trying to get into some mobile stuff but FB dating has been my main thing for the last year or two.

You pretty much need a landing page for Be2! or for 99% of dating! Make a lander, otherwise you're likely wasting leads and $. Thats the main next step to take

Subscribed. It's been 4 years since I ran some camps on FB but different verticals.

I'm curious as to what kind of Landers do they allow for dating offers? since they are so strict as of now.

DAY 2-

Nothing too exciting to report. Still in the process of making everything come together.

I spent $12.47 on running a direct link of Be2 AU. The CTR was wayy too low for some reason (0.008%). No conversions, but I wasn't really planning on having any, just trying to create a base of data for the ads, which didn't really turn out as expected.

It was using an ad copy and 2 images from a long running campaign. I was planning on using it as an initial reference point for expected CTR, I'm assuming that the angle has been played out too much. I'm gonna experiment with creating a slightly new angle.

GOT DONE:

- Spent a few hours today getting reacquainted with CPVlab
- Made a landing page from scratch

I did not set up CPVlab tracking yet since I was still going over the ins and outs. I will do that tomorrow.

Questions that I am working on (Just talking out loud and keeping it all organized for myself. If anyone wants to answer, feel free:P ):

Where do I add a phone verification to my account?
What percentage of budget spend will trigger a manual review?

O-H! haha. Awesome to see other people from Ohio. I just figured everyone here is on the West Coast. I'm about 40 minutes east of Akron. And yeah I'd love to chat, I just sent you a PM. I got a pretty good idea of what to run, but there's a couple minor things that I'm sorting out on Facebook.

Undoubtedly due to bidding CPM. I wouldn't. Likely to get much higher performance with CPC bidding.

What kind of dating offers do they accept on FB? just got an insta-ban with a legit offer that was not even rated on mywot.com

DAY 3:

My Facebook account was flagged for needing photo ID proof because someone was "logging into my account." Not sure how to go about this. Pretty aggravating. I may just create a new account. The more I'm reading/hearing about Facebook, the more challenging I'm realizing this is going to be. I will be spending tomorrow coming up with a solution.

No stats to report since I can't sign into the account to check.

I don't know how Facebook is working these days on the advertising side since I haven't ran with them in 2 years. But, if you jump over all the walls they throw up in front of you along the way it can really pay off; especially in dating. I was doing 2-3k/day in profit with them in 2011 before the ol' ban frenzy fest that got all their dicks hard. If you make it work dude, kudos to you! subbed!

I miss those days.

You need a landing page, not just for preventing bans, but having landing pages also gives a quality boost for the advertiser = more reasons for you to stay on the offer, and oh, as always, females 30+ are always golden.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to STM and I am in learning stage. I have done some affiliate marketing through my blog and got some success, but not that big. Now I want to try direct affiliate marketing and when I read hear everyone is suggesting to create a landing page.

I am not sure about what type of landing page, what will be on that landing page and if we create a landing page will 100% visitors will go to offer page. In direct linking we are sure 100% traffic will go to offer site.

Please explain me more on landing page.

can you explain why CPC bidding is more efficient than CPM bidding?

CPC is more efficient, because you are only paying when someone clicks the ad, whereas if you are bidding on a CPM, you are getting charged by how many impressions your ad has served (impressions). Since your goal is traffic, that is the best route to go. Otherwise you could get charged for a lot of people to see your ad, but that doesn't necessarily translate into clicks.
