Hey guys, thanks for the scarcity script (from the other thread), but now I'm curious if we can develop a social proof script. It wouldn't really be any different other than COUNT UP instead of COUNT DOWN.
So we could do cool things like,
"Size of our community, 2,033,144"
"Size of our community, 2,033,149"
"Size of our community, 2,033,165"
"Size of our community, 2,033,199"
Or you could still use this for scarcity like this:
"33 of 50 memberships claimed!"
"41 of 50 memberships claimed!"
"47 of 50 memberships claimed!"
etc.
And just like the other script, we could control the interval speed and amount.
What do you guys think?
Sounds like a good thing to split-test! You'll need to get the increase to a believable size, but that's just testing and maybe getting some user input.
(It's probably best to be a little careful with what you claim, too - make sure there's some basis in fact if you're claiming things like number of users. It's normally pretty easy to get an approximate number of users from the site you're driving traffic to.)
It'll be very simple to write, too - just replace the "--" in the scarcity script with "++"
