PPV URL Targets - variations?

I have a question or set of questions about targeting URLs for ppv targets.

Say I want to target a page on Amazon.com, lets say this page:

http://www.amazon.com/books-used-boo...F8&node=283155

Its Amazon's book page. The competition on this exact URL may be high, but I noticed in the AFFExpert tools this tool, the URL imploder:

http://affexpert.com/tools/urlimploder.php

Does this mean that if I stripped off the query ?ie=UTF8&node=283155 at the end of that url, that my ppv campaign would still target that same Amazon book page but with less competition?

Do keywords work the same? ie. harry potter = harry potte in PPV networks?

It used too work like this with LeadImpact , nowdays they have changed their internal workings.

It still gets some traffic but not a lot like it used to.
