Media buy Frustration

Ok so i though i had something profitable on sitescout but im not so sure anymore, the pixels are not making any sense, from what i see right now is i have 286 leads according to sitescout, my network level stats is showing me 254 leads and prosper is showing me 266 leads. Now i know it could be the time of when the stats restart and my prosper server time, network time and sitescout time. My networks stats restart at midnight EST, im not 100% sure what my server time is (if anybody can could help me figure that out would be great) as i dont see the time in my cpanel, i know beyond hosting has data centers in chicago and cinncinnati. Also sitescouts timezone im not sure when it restarts but im pretty sure its EST. I hope its just a time difference thats throwing the stats off and not a pixel issue somewere but right now im just stumped, i really though i was up to something and was about to scale this sucker out.

Thanks in advance for your replies

ok well i just figured out, time zone isnt a issue, because sitescout is in the same time zone as me and my prosper install is the same also, so all 3 thing match up as far as time zone is concerned but im still missing like 30 leads, that sitescout is firing on and network is not.

Use Sitescouts conversion pixel it should make revenue much easier to track.

thats what the issue is, i been trying to figure this out for like 2 hours, sitescouts pixel is firing more then what i am showing on the network level and in prosper, and its throwing off all my ecpa's and i cant optmize and when i though i was making money im actually losing money technically unless i can figure out why this is going on. i know that sitescouts pixel fires a few minutes after the conversion happens but still the numbers should match up.

Pixels never match up how you want them. Just keep that in mind next time you split test 2 networks and scratch your head why one can out convert the other.

For this case though since the network numbers are the only ones that put $$ in your pocket go by those. It seems to me the discrepency isn't that bad so you can still use sitescout to make optimization descisions.

I'm not sure how you set up your tracking, but if you did it correctly you should be able to quickly identify where your profits are coming from.

could be, ive got a bunch of pixels placed on this offer so i guess monday ill get with my am and clear it up really sucks because its a low payout offer and those leads make all the difference in profit and loss, going to try split testing another offer and see if i can get a match up.

Did you like sitescout?

I am about to launch a campaign there and am curious.

yes i was really digging it, but this pixel issue really has me stumped, spend like 3k over this weekend and really just broke even but i though i was making a bit of money until i matched up the stats. Pixel issue is killing me.

Good to hear!

I hope the campaign is more profitable once you tweak it!

ya i mean i had it all tweaked on my end according to the sitescout pixels, just had to run it at higher volume now , was getting 2.50ish ecpas on a 4.00 offer but this pixel thing is KILLING ME. i guess ill just run it blind like how i used to run stuff when i was a newbie without tracking, just compare cpc vs epc and if epc is higher run it. LOL

The tracking piece seems to be the most difficult thing to get right. I need to get that area of my campaigns running a little better. I have never ran a campaign the size and scale you are talking but I am working towards my first $100/day campaign.

On sitescout are there certain offers that will perform better than others? From what I could gather there are several niches there that could be profitable.

Also, am I thinking correctly that media buying will be more profitable quicker with a good ad and offer over the same good ad and offer on other traffic sources?

tracking really isnt that difficult, my issue is pixels are misfiring somewere, you just have to test different offers on different sites and throw money at them see what converts, you need a good bit budget if you really want to get some good data on what sites work and what offers work then you want to drill down to exact placements, ive also noticed that you have to tweak bids on some of the high volume sites often and ctrs do fluctuate, also day parting is something i need to look into, but untill i can do all this i have to get my pixel shit together. lol
