After Kim Schmitz (http://kim.com/ /Megaupload) another crazy german geek that "changed" the way we use the internet (more or less) and owns Trafficjunky, Youporn, Pornhub, Brazzers, the #1 porn site in Europe + many many more sites.. i guess we should thank him for all the adult dating leads
jk..but i think the video is worth a share:

Quote from the video. 4:05 min
i think it hit affiliate marketing the most because simply these bigger companies came on and started getting all this traffic and didn't need affiliates
seems about right for the US market...Ron Jeremy Ads anyone?..but disagree for other countries. What do you think? Will owning your own offer be the only way to keep up with the competition in the future?

kinda inspiring if you do a background check for Fabian (without the legal cases..although thats normal with big scale businesses like that)
Is the freemium model (offering free content and charge for premium content like full hd vids in this case) the right one?
#1 question: why are they (lobbys, competition) trying so hard to take down his companies? the illegal US raid of megaupload comes to my mind (sry hollywood but there are wars you can't win..mega.co.nz up agian #fuckprism). The whole tax evasion thing is just a stupid excuse in my opinion...how about apple, google, starbucks and facebook that only pay around 5% (regular people are paying around 10 times more..sounds fair right?) income tax for sales outside of the us with a similar company setups? ...the real reason is market shares. competitors get scared and lack of innovation so they try to sue.
Food for thought.

I read ab out him few weeks ago in the german news.
As far as i remember he also owns cash4members.
Mydirtyhobby was one of the first adult affiliate programs i ever promoted in 2005 vor 2006 and some of the members from years ago still bring me some (small) money.
That guy definitely made everything right (apart from the tax thing maybe)

He runs the whole show lol, like a full circle of money.
Makes the Porn - Distributes the porn via Free channels - Sells the traffic on the free sites lol - $ back to making porn - cycle continues
That is a bad ass setup lol, don't know why you wouldn't pay your taxs when you're making that much money

Well it's not that easy. One of the biggest problems is that a shitload of his operations are supposed to be done in Germany. If you're getting paid outside the EU you have no problem with VAT - when you start fucking around for VAT, government is right after you. Which is what effectively is happening by doing all the settlement through cyprus limiteds which are flat taxed and therefore to avoid both, income & vat tax.
Problem is he's fucking with basically EVERYBODY by running 99% of his stuff through offshore. The difference compared to starbucks and co is, that all those huge brands are doing so called licensing through offshore locations. Means starbucks in DE is paying license fees to starbucks in <insert any offshore location> while Manwin effectively uses fake companies for all it's settlements. Plus, with starbucks and so on, the states do get the VAT which with Manwin setup, they effectively don't get at all.
Obviously none of us is a professional in that regions, but one of the key problems is VAT in my opinion. VAT makes up a HUGE part in any countries income and fucking with the VAT is normally a very very solid way to get in trouble.
In the end, he's also not taking the freemium road. It's just a sales funnel for his paid stuff. Often enough you see 5 minutes clips of the premium sites with banners below where people can signup. To cover that costs of running those free sites and make an extra profit, he's obviously selling the advertising space too. Kinda free advertising for your paid stuff that should probably make profit too - brilliant in my opinion.

I remember that when I was doing adult these guys went on a huge paysite shopping spree. They bought some of the biggest adult affiliate programs (I think they bought Deecash and TrafficCashGold and many more)
When he says they hit affiliates the hardest I think he meant adult affiliates. The ones pushing adult website memberships.
I remember that before the tube sites came along it was still easy to make paysite sales with a bunch of blogs. After the big tube sites (most owned by manwin) , it was almost impossible. Who is gonna pay for porn if everything is free (more often than not, pirated) on the tube sites? He gives away the porn, owns the paysites, sells the ads...
All but the nichest of niche sites where hit hard. Eventually all the sites had to give up and setup their own tube sites and send their content to other tube sites (most owned by manwin).
Needless to say, Manwin was not very popular in the adult affiliate industry. I don't know now, I've been away for 2-3 years now because the whole thing was going to shit.
