CPA campaign Budget

Hey Guys,

Im running a campaign from Clickbank that has ~50-70USD CPA commission... What should i expect to budget for testing this? Also, how do these CPA campaigns convert? It obviously isnt instantaneous (like lead gen), so what timeline should i be looking at to start seeing some conversions so that i can work on optimizing?

well I'd shoot for a guesstimated starting conversion rate of 1-2%. And work backwards from there with statistical relevance.

Clickbank - do you mean a sales-based product or some kind of bizarre lead gen?

I've not run CPA on Clickbank, but my experience is that most direct CPS stuff from there or places like there still converts pretty quickly. Obviously, it's different if you're sending visitors to an email drip feed or something, but just straight-up "here's a Clickbank sales page" stuff has normally converted more or less on the spot for me - if it's going to convert at all.

You get some people going away then returning to buy, but in my experience, if they go away they're usually not coming back.

Generally a safe bet to budget the payout X2.

To be 'completely sure', you'd want to spend more. A winning angle on a $75 payout can rapidly spin your ROI in to profit. But this is affiliate marketing, right? Being 'completely sure' of anything involves losing more money than you needed to.
