Network Says Advertiser Wants Me To Pass Referrers? GTFO!

What you guys think? First thing that comes to mind is to tell them to fuck off. No why will I pass all my referrers so they know exactly which sites and placements convert. Like are they kidding me?

Id rather switch to another network or use a different offer than this....

ya i was asked once to provide the sites I would be advertising on(via ppv)....to which I laughed a little inside and said thats not gonna happen....

I ended up not running the offer.....

I would say that you would be happy to send them test leads....so they can judge your quality...and cap you at xxx amount per day or whatever....but asking to send referers is not cool.....

the evil in me says you could say "sure np" then just set up a fake referrer to the offer .....basically a giant fuck you

agree with polarbacon.

many affiliates would be surprised at how many networks and offers are run 'internal'

In the financial world that would be a serious conflict of interest and not allowed [chinese wall] ,but I guess affiliates have no issue being ripped off. heck we accept shaving and the excuses made for it.

take that same logic to any other industry that handles money and you will get some strange looks :P

We always work out a lead cap with advertisers to test quality, same deal with networks though we try and stay away from networks as much as possible. A lot of affiliates pass refs anyway because they don't know any better. We have dozens of affiliates running our internal offers that basically give me their campaign data on a silver platter everyday.

We pass a subid on basically every placement/keyword, it's good for the merchant because they can track quality by placement without knowing what that placement is, and it's good for us so we don't get dropped from an offer because we lumped it all together and thereby decreased the quality of the good placements we could have kept running.
