MobAff Tracker - A Few Questions About Campaign Setup...

I'm currently stumbling through the mobaff tracker interface trying to get everything figured out and get my first campaign set up with this tracker. I watched all of the tutorials on Alexander's Vimeo channel(http://vimeo.com/user10599144). They are helpful but also sort of brief and gloss over some things.

My main question is how to set up custom channels. I want to set up a channel with TrafficFactory. When creating a custom channel the form to fill in includes the following parameters:

1.Traffic Name
2.Backlink (url)
3.Creative
4.Unique ID
5. C1, C2, C3 ect.

Traffic Name is obvious.

C1, C2, C3: I assume the dynamic TrafficFactory url codes that you want to use go here, for example {banner.size} , {banner.name} , {categories} ect. Am I right in this assumption?

What I'm confused most with is Backlink, Creative and Unique ID. I have no idea what goes in these sections.

---------

My second question is about something that I read in a previous post about MobAff Tracker. Alex said there was a bug with landing pages where you have to use [subid] instead of [click_id]. Is this bug fixed? If this bug still exists could someone please elaborate on what exactly needs to be changed for everything to work right?

----

Third, when trying to access my landing page from my lander url to see if my offer links are set up correctly, when I click on my offer link I get redirected to the error message at the url /404/#/error/missing_click_id . Is this because I don't have a traffic channel set up yet for my campaign?

----

Lastly, for the post back url (http://api.mobaff.com/conversion/[subid]) when adding it to cake do I have to add " =#s2# " to the end of it like with prosper202's postback url?

Thanks for bearing with my noob questions. The only previous tracker experience I have is with 202.

I use POF and Exoclick as custom channel and I leave the back link empty

c1-c5 yes, this is the ads network custom token or parameter you want to use

creative: use the network token for creative, in your TF case it's {banner.name}-{banner.size}, in POF its {creativeid:} in exoclick I add them manually creative1-tj-300x250 (for ex)

about click id, I use click id for my LP and it's performing without any problem, when you add custom offer make sure you put subid={click_id} / s1={click_id} etc

when you check for your LP, you have to create a campaign with that LP, so go create new campaign, add traffic source and it'll give you a long URL, you need to click that long URL to test, otherwise it'll show as missing click id. Basically each click need to be given unique click id.

last question, not familiar with that because I don't work much with CAKE

According to this handy thread you need to add #s2# onto the end of that postback link, so you'll end up with https://api.mobaff.com/api/conversion/#s2# .

Got an answer from the russian himself if anyone is interested:

Backlink is used when a traffic source has Server 2 Server conversion tracking option. You can leave it blank if you don't want to use it. Unique ID is used in conjunction with backlink, again can be left blank.

Creative is just a placeholder for you to tag your ads if you want, again can be left blank.

Pretty sure its fixed, no LP issue. And yes you need to access the lp through a campaign link for the outbound links to work.

Last question you are correct when you send the postback to CAKE you have to use the cake macro.
